EAGLE RIVER [AK]: St. Andrew Parish victim of several attacks.
The Rev. Leo Walsh was stunned this summer when vandals smashed angel statues in garden plots at his Eagle River church. He was bewildered and angry when, in October, someone broke the head off a statue of the Virgin Mary at St. Andrew Parish.

This is not my church, but it is my new home town. Does anyone have suggestions how to help this situation?

Simple. Put up a surveillance camera and turn the tape over to the police.

This is the result of the constant "Catholics are evil Idol Worshippers" that is constantly spewed by the so-called Christian preachers.
Like the left-wing radicals, they have never stopped hating - not since the days of calvin.
They can't even accept Gibson's film as simply the story of The Passion - they must describe it as the "Catholic view" .... I guess even in the Bible, it depends on what the meaning of the word "IS" is?
I am NOT a practicing Catholic and neither do I describe myself as one.

Does anyone have suggestions how to help this situation? Offer a reward for info. $500 is a lot of money for a 13 year old.

You already have the solution.....members have to spend time in the church....
If It was ny church, we have shifts, and it would never be empty, and the cops would know if anyone showed up.....you betcha, no one is screwing with my church....and we members of the parish will take care of it...you betcha..
Some one needs to take charge.
That's why GWB is going to win big time......
Americans are not afraid to follow leaders, and GWB is leading....

I think this is probably the result of anti-Christian bigotry.

It would be a hate crime if these acts were against a Mosque or a Synagogue. For a church, it is just vandalism...

Sorry, it's only a hate crime against Christians -- that's perfectly acceptable to the liberal establishment -- they only care about hate crimes against their favored "victim" classes.

Like the left-wing radicals, they have never stopped hating - not since the days of calvin. Doubt it. Do you really hear "so-called Christian preachers" saying things like that, or is that only something you hear on TV sit coms? I suspect it's just a cliche, for the most part....
