Black guy and a white guy were arguing whether God is a black man or a white man.
As fate would have it, they both die in the same car accident
They hit heaven together and meet their Maker, who greets them with with
" buenos dias, amigos"

I fired off a letter to CNSNews at the link provided.
Here's the text:
"Concerning the article Jesus Was Black, Not White, Group Says, by Melanie Hunter, dated 02/24/04...
"I believe Ms. Hunter may have been a touch negligent in her research. This group claims that Revelations 13:20 claims that Jesus was black. There IS no Revelations 13:20. Chapter 13 of Revelations ends with Verse 18. I have asked around and no one can find any version of a Bible that has a Revelations Chapter 13 with more than 18 verses.
"I'm not even a practicing Christian, I'm agnostic. For all I know or care, maybe Jesus -was- black, but don't you think it would be rather incumbent upon a reporter to fact-check something that would be so unbelievably easy to check?
"Ms. Hunter has given the legitimacy of press coverage to this group who are making completely unfounded claims on not just misinterpreted but actively non-existent Bible verses.
I don't want the story pulled. I want a follow-up story where Ms. Hunter goes back to the group and asks them precisely -why- they misled her by citing a fictional Bible verse, and displays as much outrage at the deception as this group claims against Mel Gibson. I would like to hear not just about "purposefully ommitted facts", but purposefully fabricated facts. I would think she'd be pretty angry about it... assuming she didn't know at the time the story was published........ and wasn't in on it........ which is quite an assumption to make actually........"

[ Instead, they say the film is historically inaccurate because Jesus is portrayed as a white man, not a black man. ]
Are we talkin Micheal Jackson white, Julian Bond white, or Tony Brown white.. ?

How does one answer this kind of lunacy? Just walk away, shaking your head. These people are insane.

I knew it. I was telling my friend the other day that this was going to happen. Then again, this was not a very hard prediction to make.

i always figured something along the lines of:
Jesus is the Son of God. God created US in His image. God looks like ALL of us. Jesus had mauve polka-dots for all we know.
only question is... what colour is mauve? im male... it eludes me.
To: kattracks
Not that it would matter if He was black, but I find it hard to believe when His lineage is clearly stated in the scriptures.

a random epiphany.... you will never find a Black Panther with an African accent.

Jesus was pale green with purple spots... /sarcasm
WHO CARES, this is just another excuse for some lunatic fringe group to get attention. *Yawn*

I couldn't give a good rip if Jesus of Nazareth was red, white, black or blue. His melanin count is irrelevant. His message is what mattered.
Anyone who focuses on the Son of God's pigmentation rather than His message is either a fool or an apostate.

I once received a Christmas Card from a black co-worker and good friend. It depicted Joseph and Mary as black people. I remember Joseph illustrated as a topless man who looked like a cross between Bill Cosby (think "Uptown Saturday Night") and Earl Campbell. I can't remeber who Mary resembled but she held a black Baby Jesus in her arms.
Although I tried not to look judgemental about it, I must have looked either stunned or confused because she added, "Jesus was an Ethiopian".
I thanked her for the card and told her I'd welcome meeting Jesus no matter what he looked like and that seemed to settle things.
As I age, I've learned to let most immaterial arguements roll off my back. When my grandmother stated that "Dogs go to Heaven too" I felt like saying there is no Scriptural evidence that our pets will join us in the afterlife and, rather, that there was some Scripture that would imply that they won't.
But let them believe what they want when it doesn't really matter. If they're mistaken, let somebody else give them the bad news.

Black/African history has and continues to be misrepresented, black people worldwide are subjected to the psychologically abusive images of white supremacy and have no collective voice to defend or promote a Black agenda," Shabazz concluded.Today, Black people have the means to defend or promote a Black agenda across large portions of sub-Saharan Africa. The result is usually genocidal warfare between Black tribes.
