Norman's awesome dream..Update on Hubby
I just got in from the hospital. Norman seems very tired and unwell today...he had a full day of tests yesterday. They seem to have a debilitating affect on him.
The Onocologist came in while I was there. It is cancer. They will do Chemotherapy as soon as he can tolerate it. The breathing is complicating things. He's on 100% oxygen and he has to be back to 4 liters and on his feet before they can start treatment. There is still fluid...they're considering putting a drain in.
I'm glad I was there as I got to ask him about the new UltraSound treatment that is getting good results. He didn't know about it, only that they now use it to break up kidney stones. It's relatively noninvasive and there are no side affects as with traditional treatment. So I'm taking him the article that I got online tomorrow. He was definitely interested. The article addy is: http://www.upi.com/view.cfm?StoryID=20040214-063550-3069r
Norman had an interesting dream last night. In his dream, he was looking down on his body and thought it looked like garbage. Then a being approached him and asked him if he wanted to come with him or live here. He thought about it because he was distressed that his body looked like garbage. Part of him wanted to go with the being. Another part of him wanted to stay. Finally he decided to stay and live. He knew that meant he'd have to fight for his life.
He needs us to help him with that fight. We need to keep him lifted up, we need to pray for his strength. We need to plead the blood of Jesus over his life.
With gratitude for you wonderful people, EW

My Dad's name was Norman. Great man. Throat cancer got him last July. Radiation made him unable to swallow. Radiation and throats don't mix well.
You didn't specify what type of canc. he has-I'll pray for your Norman.

100% oxygen would kill him in about 1 minute. They must have meant something else when they said that.

Interesting article you linked on ultrasound cancer treatments. I had ESWL (ultrasound) for kidney stones 2-3 times and it was amazing. I was up and about within a couple hours with no side effects once out of anesthesia.
Best wishes to you and Norman.

He has a mass on the outside of his lung. He also has fluid, and there are cancer cells floating in that as well. Sorry about your Dad.

Perhaps they meant 100% of the mixture he could tolerate. I didn't know it could kill him. If I get to see the Onocologist tomorrow, I'll ask him what he meant.
