The Democrats worry President Bush could cut deeply enough into the large Hispanic vote to guarantee his re-election. So much so that, earlier this month, party strategists voiced such concerns behind closed doors at a congressional retreat in the Virginia mountains.

This is because most all are not here to assimilate but for economic self interest devoid of any allegiance to this country.

This is not a slur

No, it is more like an ignorant, stu..stu.. stutter.

Psst, illegal immigrants can't vote, unless it is in the Sanchez district.

Bush knows his immigration plan won't pass. I think he's doing it not just to win Hispanics -- though he may woo a handful over with that -- but soccer mom types in the suburbs who want assurance that Bush is really a "compassionate conservative." In the end, it may turn to be a smart move.

You wrote a string of syllable looking for a grouping of phonemes to grasp in order to express your lack of understanding about the 36 million American Hispanics.

Mr. Bush managed to attract 35 percent of the Hispanic vote in 2000, while Al Gore drew 62 percent (despite such a high number, it is a relatively poor showing for the Democrats, who once considered this minority vote to be theirs for the asking).

65% --- it pretty much is --- actually at one time --- the "hispanic" vote really was primarily Republican --- it became the democrats after the massive amnesty of the 80s. Clinton had 80% of the post-amnesty hispanic vote --- it had never before been so strongly democrat.

Bush assumes that Americans whose families have lived here for many generations are somehow different than other whites if they have a Spanish last name --- he believes they want this country to look more like Mexico, become Spanish-speaking and have open borders with that country. Yet Silvestre Reyes was elected to Congress by hispanics --- after he put Operation Blockade and Operation Hold-the-Line into place --- that made him look tough on the border, he stood up to the Mexican government and became well-known and electable.

deport every single lazy, good for nothing, AFL-CIO loving, union bum

The AFL-CIO and other union bums have been taking quite a few trips of their own recently to Mexico --- seems they didn't like the fading American interest in unions --- but they do seem to like what they consider healthy union sentiments (los sindicatos) in Mexico --- that's true union-country.

Will he even win the Mexican invaders' vote?

That's really unnecessary and insulting to every latino that was born and raised here in the US.

Of course, if you are born and raised here, you wouldn't be an invader then would you. What is insulting is saying that every latino born and raised here would be insulted.

We latinos who were born here are insulted by the fact that OUR own government doesn't have the cojones to protect its OUR border in a time of war, THAT IS INSULTING TO US, BECAUSE WE LATINOS BORN HERE ARE - AMERICANS!

My long-ago ancestors came from Europe and one grandmother came from Canada --- does that mean I should believe in unlimited immigration from any of the countries my ancestors are from and that everyone should want open borders with those countries? Of course not --- and why do *some* so-called hispanics think that because their ancestors came from Mexico the rules on immigration from there should be different?

Sure I would mind it, but tell me how the hispanic vote jumps from 6% to 9% in three years?

It is demographics! Why do you think the GOP is making a move for these voters? Their average age is much younger than other nationalities. Older gringos die, and even if the hispanic population stays the same, their share of the vote goes up. However, latino women are incredibly fertile, so their population has increased too.

So using a three percent jump as a template, in three more years they will make up 12% of voters?

Approximately 30 percent of the Mexican work force is unionized, about twice the U.S. rate.

If you know anything about statistics and demographics, without more information it would be impossible to predict. And remember your fractions - (regarding the gringo vote) even if the nominator stays the same, if the denominator increases, you get a smaller percentage.

Hispanic Federation and Latino and Labor Leaders Unite to Kick-Off Nationwide Rally for Immigrant Rights

September 4, 2003 - Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez, President of the Hispanic Federation and Bruce Raynor, President of UNITE! were joined this afternoon at a news conference by Hector Figueroa, Secretary Treasurer of Local 32 BJ/SEIU and 30 community and labor leaders, to announce 30 days of events in New York City leading up to a nationwide rally to fight for the rights of immigrants in Flushing Meadows Park on October 4th. The event at the CUNY Graduate Center, was hosted by the Center for Latin American Caribbean and Latino Studies.

“This event officially starts the countdown to October 4th when hundreds of thousands workers, public officials, religious and community leaders from across the nation will converge on New York City to press for the rights of immigrants,” said Cortés-Vázquez. “These events will be educational in nature, and will build momentum to what we believe will serve as a significant event in the effort to improve the lives of immigrants in the U.S.”

“As the Immigrant freedom ride draws near, the enthusiasm and commitment of the diverse ethnic communities throughout New York City continues to grow rapidly,” said Brian McLaughlin, President NYC-Central Labor Council AFL-CIO. “The vibrant Latino community and its leadership have from the start demonstrated their passion for the effort to protect the dignity and rights of immigrants. Their participation leading up to October 4th at Flushing Meadow Corona Park will be essential to ensuring its success.”

The number of foreign-born hispanic speakers, who still speak only Spanish, has now reached 51% in the United States. That is a terrifying statistic, and confirms the Mexicanization of the United States.

"Bush lost TWENTY-NINE points relative to Kerry within 5 days of announcing his Mexican-invasion plan. (going from +22 to -7). Will he even win the Mexican invaders' vote? No, of course not! How many people will take a $5 bribe when someone else offers them a $10 bribe? All you do is lose the honest voters."

That's right. The Mexicans will not vote for Bush in anywhere near the numbers he needs to win in November.
