Hispanic vote anxieties

The Democrats worry President Bush could cut deeply enough into the large Hispanic vote to guarantee his re-election. So much so that, earlier this month, party strategists voiced such concerns behind closed doors at a congressional retreat in the Virginia mountains.

Let's see if Chuckie Schmuckie, Leahy and Fat Teddy will be able to 'splain how they keep Roman Catholics and especially M. Estrada from the federal bench and THEN want Hispanic voters! This means that in places like Miami, the dems will have to pay a fortune to get the Jamaicans and Haitians to each vote enough times to counter Bush's popularity. Fortunately, McAuliffe probably has a lot of Saddam's oil voucher money, all cash.

Latest poll out of California shows Kerry beating Bush by 17 percent. That would be by far the worst defeat any Republican has ever suffered in California. If Bush has made any inroads among the Mexican invaders, it is at the expense of Americans (including 2nd, 3rd, and higher generation Hispanics) who resent the invasion.

Bush lost TWENTY-NINE points relative to Kerry within 5 days of announcing his Mexican-invasion plan. (going from +22 to -7)

Will he even win the Mexican invaders' vote? No, of course not! How many people will take a $5 bribe when someone else offers them a $10 bribe? All you do is lose the honest voters.

The obvious is never stated by the media. If Hispanics lean towards republicans because republicans stand for decent & moral values, faith in Jesus, and the goodness of families, that means the democrats stand for immorality, denying Jesus, and disposal of the family as a cultural institution.

What I have written above is always implied but never spit out in plain english (or spanish). I guess it's too ugly to look at.

When I started voting in the fifties there were no Irish groups,Italian groups,Swedish groups,Jewish groups,women's groups, etc.

When on earth did all these so called voting blocs become the norm?

The state Republican HQs must start RIGHT NOW recruiting Poll Watchers and Deputy Election Judges who reside in Hispanic majority precincts and who are themselves Hispanic Republicans. I speak from personal experience. In November, 2000 I was a Poll Watcher in a Hispanic precinct in Houston. I personally prevented over 100 people from voting multiple times. You would not believe the shenanigans that I documented. BTW, I don't mean to sterotype Hispanic majority precincts as being prone to vote fraud. In my experience, vote fraud occurs in almost every precinct controlled by Democrats. My lengthy Poll Watcher report was published on FR shortly after that election. Maybe I need to write a book on how to prevent vote fraud; I don't think one exists.

No question that the amnesty business has been related to the drive for Hispanic votes. But I still think it was a mistake. Bush was already popular with Hispanics, has a young Hispanic nephew (?) who went on the campaign trail last time, and is well known to be friendly with Hispanics. Pandering to the illegal immigrant vote is not the way to increase that popularity.

But who knows. Maybe we can get the best of both worlds. Bush panders, gets the vote, and the Republicans in congress shoot down his proposal. Not pretty, but if it works that way I won't complain.

That's really unnecessary and insulting to every latino that was born and raised here in the US. I'd gladly trade a gringo with a poor attitude for 3 immigrants that actually love this country.

I agree. There are plenty of gringos (and non-gringos too) that I would happily send to Mexico in exchange for my hard-working, honest, family-oriented, conservative Mexican landscaping contractor. He came here with nothing and now runs a thriving business.
