Good info. The VVAW were not alone. "In March 1971 Jane Fonda traveled to Paris and had a private meeting with North Vietnam's lead peace talk negotiator." At a press conference following this meeting, Fonda told the French Press the USG, the Pentagon, and the CIA are "the real war criminals in Vietnam."

I recommend the seminal book about Fonda's antiwar activities by Henry and Erika Hollzer, "Aid and Comfort" Jane Fonda in North Vietnam. It is a well-documented book with hundreds of footnotes. The Holzers make a compelling case that Fonda should have been tried for treason using legal precedent and the Constitution. The VVAW association is also included.

I didn't know that. I wonder if Fonda didn't then arrange for the VVAW's meeting with them (or the NLF) later in the year.

I would guess she would have had to have had a hand it in. (As of course did Kerry.) Good get!

One of the things I was never able to understand about Fonda was why she was allowed to travel to Hanoi while we were at war with that country. Isn't there a law against that for "common" citizens?

Jane sure was a busy bee in April 1971:

Isn't it interesting the confluence of media during that month--the same month Kerry did his media blitz on Meet The Press, Dick Cavett (other shows) and before the US Senate.

AID AND COMFORT: Jane Fonda in North Vietnam

On page 80, the Holzers use an excerpt from the Wall Street Journal interview with Bui Tin, "How North Vietnam Won the War", August 3, 1995:

Q: Was the American antiwar movement important to Hanoi's Victory?

A: It was essential to our strategy.

Author of the important Following Ho Chi Minh: The Memoirs of a North Vietnamese Colonel, Bui enlisted at age 18 in the Vietnamese People's Army. He worked as a journalist and editor for the Communist army newspaper in Hanoi during the Vietnam War. In this position, Bui worked in close proximity to Ho Chi Minh -- and the American POWs.

Kerry's slandering of all American fighting men as "war criminals, murderers and rapists" reversed the defeat of the Communist Tet Offensive.

Kerry and VVAW won the Vietnam War and defeated America.

Kerry: anti-defense, anti-intelligence, anti-American.
