As always during a "Live Thread", comments welcome, as there are FReepers who do not have access to PAX PAX TV will broadcast a one hour special in advance of the worldwide premiere of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ" on Sunday, February 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and on Tuesday, February 24, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. "The Making of 'The Passion of The Christ'" is a behind-the scenes look at this bold motion picture, which is a vivid depiction of the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus Christ. Produced by Academy Award winning producer and director, Mel Gibson and Icon Productions, the film will be released into theaters on February 25, 2004. "The Making of the Passion" will present never-before-seen footage of the actors and directors as they tackle the enormous task of bringing Gibson's "labor of love" to the big screen. It will feature on-set interviews of the cast and crew, as well as explore the driving forces behind the making of this remarkable film. Also featured is the story of how they assembled a crew to create a set complete with a temple, courtyard and palace that would best represent a centuries old Jerusalem. |

Dateline NBC had a pretty good hour long report about the subject matter covered in the movie on Friday night. Was excellent in my view.

Only thing I missed was the exclusive interview with Mel Gibson on ABC. :)
I completely spaced it out, and was reminded the next day when it was the topic of discussion among the cable news channels. LOL

I can't wait to see the movie too! I've been anticipating this movie since July 2003.

**Spoiler**.
I think anybody who watches tonight will get a laugh out of Mel putting on the clown nose while directing.
A little levity in a grueling schedule/shoot...

They did spend an inordinate amount of time exploring the anti-semetic angle, I will agree. I actually started channel surfing when Stone Phillips did alot of bias garbage.

You're welcome! I'm still a bit rusty with multitasking (watching TV and FReeping) but I contribute as much as I can! :) I got the laptop set up in the living room in front of the big screen this afternoon just for the occasion, which is where I'm at right now at the moment.

Par for the course, when you consider the rest of the media's coverage. They were talking about it on Fox News Watch and many on the panel agree the negative media coverage is to blame for the huge early ticket sales. LOL
The media just never learns.

Initially the movie was going to be shown in churches around the country, as first run theaters shied away from it. Once the media started showing hit piece after hit piece, first run movie theaters lined up to nab the movie.

Crossan and the Jesus Seminar are enemies of the cause of Christ. Yet they are still mostly taking their livings from the contributions of believers.
