Reading, Writing, and ... Homosexuality?

Gone are the Norman Rockwell days of sending young Scooter off to school with his satchel slung over his shoulder, PBJ sandwich in his Superman lunch box and a wide-eyed expectancy of learning, the kind that makes individuals and nations great.

With regard to the safe and trusted haven that was the public school, the fat lady has officially sung. Not only did Big Mama sing a while back, she’s been in the grave decomposing for a solid 40 years. I hate to sound like a freaked out parent, but I AM A FREAKED OUT PARENT! -- and I’m seriously concerned about what is going on inside our public school systems, natoinwide.

I send my daughters off to school Monday through Friday to become alpha females in reading, writing and arithmetic. I want my kids to get a classic, quality education based on the historical and cultural tenets that have made us the greatest nation on the planet, and for them to get a stranglehold on the essential sciences.

We should also be able to expect their teachers not to undercut the moral authority that we parents have over our children, regarding right and wrong, particularly as it relates to sexual intercourse and homosexuality.

Public school teachers and administrators: if you mess with my kids’ heads while they’re in your classroom or at your school, respecting what I feel is not only wrong but also foul and offensive as well as spiritually, socially, mentally and physically unhealthy -- you’re going to meet with at least one angry Dad.

And now I’m an officially ticked off father, as just the other day without warning and without notice both my daughters were exposed to “It’s Okay to Be Gay” propaganda presented by high school students to their classmates, including my daughters, with the approval of their high school and middle school teachers.

It’s bad enough my girls have to see and hear things from fellow students that single sailors on leave in Borneo don’t see and hear, but now they get an overt inoculation regarding homosexuality sanctioned by their teachers and paid for by MY tax dollars.

Teachers and kids can’t talk about Jesus Christ, Moses or Biblical ethics -- at least not in a positive, plausible sense -- in the classroom. But it’s just fine to talk about Timmy and Tommy, the Testicle Twins? About Daddy’s male roommate? About anal sex and oral sex between teenagers of the same sex? What in the world is going on?

Parents, the innocence you work your butts off trying to provide your kids is being eroded, undermined or at the very least under-valued within the NEW public school systems.

The pro-gay propaganda and politically correct thought-control spawned by a few, a VERY FEW liberal deconstructionists ought to be radically and unendingly challenged by the 95-plus percent of Americans who think homosexuality is wrong. Parents, teachers and students with beliefs fundamentally different from those of the homosexual proselytizers invading OUR public school system, should make a loud noise about our dissenting views.

We’re the majority and the last time I checked, the majority still rules in the USA.

My ClashPoint is this: concerned parent, if -- IF -- your child is going to stay in public school, then it is your duty as a parent to know what is going on in his or her school, especially regarding such a serious issue as homosexuality. Or any school, for that matter. It’s this simple: you and I must be involved in our kids’ educational process.

It’s our job to meet their principals, teachers and counselors to tell them our beliefs and values; to view our kids’ courses and curricula; to attend every sport, play or project our children participate in. And we must teach them to listen carefully and to challenge constantly those things that reason, nature and history state are injurious.

The homosexual agenda is infecting and affecting our schools. Remember: they are OUR schools; we MUST protect and strengthen them. There is much we can do, and we CAN succeed in stopping gay recruitment -- but we can’t do it by burying our heads in the sand.

Get her out of public school!

I have a daughter, she's 4 1/2 and an only child so I have to be mindful of spoiling her ... anyway, she counts to 100 and wants to learn about money. So we sat down and discussed, what's on a penny. Who is Abe Lincoln. Where is the Lincoln Memorial (on back of penny) etc with ALL the coins. I also emphasized "In God we Trust" is on most of our currency and showed her. Next week we tackle dollar bills, five dollar bills etc.

The point is she sees FIRST hand that God is more important than money and the role Christian men played in out Judeo Christian rooted country. BTW, she also goes to a private Christian school where the Bible is studied, unapologetically.

It's a wonderful school. For Thanksgiving the entire school makes their own authentic feast with foods the Pilgrim had for their feast. Of course Easter and Christmas are also celebrated. When they are YOUNG is the time to put this into their little heads.

The reason my wife and I took her to Disney is because her parents suck. They wouldn't have a clue regarding her education.

I think it is an infringement on religious freedom for public schools to indoctrinate children on liberal religious and moral views on sexual activity, including homosexual activity. People have a right to hold traditional views on sexual morality.

I hope you stand firm in this decision. A shared commitment to homeschooling was one of the "must have" requirements my husband and I had for the person we would marry. Hardly a day goes by without a new news report providing additional evidence confirming the wisdom of that commitment.

Years ago, I had a disagreement with my boss about accepting homosexuality. She said that by accepting it as a viable lifestyle, that lifestyle will be touted in the public schools and to remember that homosexuals recruit.

I told her that I thought she was wrong, that she was just being intolerant, homosexuals are unfairly discriminated against, it would never happen, they would never get to be that powerful, blah, blah, blah.

Well, here we are 20 years later and everything she said is true.

Sure, but not mine. This school has never failed to turn a problem student into a good one, as long as their parents follow the nutrition rules, etc. In fact the school officially proclaims that learning disabilites are fraud and can handle any child so labelled. Hard to believe, but it works.

Teachers as a class must be dumb as rocks.

I only taught for one year, 1987-88, but you're not far off my most generous estimate of my peers that year.

Also, the number of them that just flat hated kids was staggering. I mean, if I hated horses the last thing I'd do is take a job at a riding stable, ya know? If I hated the smell of diesel fuel I wouldn't become a bus mechanic. Why do people that hate kids become teachers?

My guess: when they are young kids in the bottom quintile of their college class, the idea of a job with all summer off to party sounds really cool.

not everyone can or should home school their children. Besides, they are PUBLIC schools, our tax dollars pay for them. We should be trying to fix the problem instead of yanking our kids out and turning our backs on it.
