Junior Brown bump! What a talent!

No Paco Pena or Pepe Romero, either. I could understand their leaving off Andres Segovia, since he's dead (no offense, dead :-) but not Pena.

Terry Kath!!! Absolutely, Chicago was a great band when he was with them, he sang all their good songs, in addition to playing great guitar, once he was gone, Chicago went downhill fast into schlock-dom.

Looks like a popularity contest, as opposed to a talent contest. Not worth the time it took to find the obvious mis-rankings and omissions.

Yeah, I noticed that. How could they have Hagar without Montrose.

I can't take a list seriously that ignores the man who wrote "Killing an Arab."

not much of a country music fan, but I'm sure there's some good 'ol boys that could school a few

Steve Wariner. Great guitar, and a gentleman, too.

Rock, be rocked, or step aside (a la Z-Rock).

Trajan88 (a vet of the 1984, '85, & '86 Texxas Jams... and my ears still ring).

That's because Pete is a great guitarist, better than most of the children on this list...and since he has cleared of the kiddie porn charge, I'm feeling a little better about him.

This is a popularity vote. None can hold a candle to Steven King, a finger picker from Washington State that has won the championship so many times he is retired. I saw him with Chet Atkins...he was better than Tommy Immanuel.

Looks like a popularity contest

Probably several factors are involved. Technique and musical content are part of it, but composition and stage presence are also in there. For a lot of these the electric guitar isn't even their first or main instrument. Wolfgang A. Mozart was the first and greatest rocker.
