What Bush vs Kerry is really all about

Forget the current hullabaloo regarding the thirty some odd year old service records of the two candidates and all the other hysterical, hypocritical, hyperbolic horse hockey being raised by the Democrats and their operatives.
Here's the commonsense bottom line of what the coming election is about...

Are you safer than you were on 9-11-2001?
To: TheSpottedOwl
I think you're all on the right track questioning Kerry's ability to lead in a post 911 world, however, relying solely on his Vietnam history may backfire. That generation makes up a a huge voting block now and it wasn't a popular war at the time. Portraying him as unpatriotic with a chest full of medals could be problematic.
Work in the areas where we know the majority would find objectionable. I would emphasize the various reasons why American can't trust him to lead us in the war on terror. His history of not supporting the military or intelligence, support and aid for socialist/communist guerrillas, despot appeasement, his support for the UN, love of France, etc.. Once you've got the crowd on these points then throw in the point of tossing his medals and calling his military brethern baby killers...the public will be warmed up and more willing to consider these points.

If I may, a more edgy version of your ad:
Voice Over: The US Military won a decisive battle against Terrorism by defeating the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Video Showing: F-18s, B-1s, Apache Helicopters, and other advanced weapons systems in action in Afghanistan.
Suddenly, in mid-flight rubber stamped "Kerry voted NO" thuds one by one onto each weapons system. Voice over goes, silent, and lets the images speak for themselves.
Voice Over: However, if John Kerry had gotten his way, our brave military men and women would not have had the weapons systems needed to protect our soldiers, sailors, and marines in battle - and protect the American citizens at home.
Video Showing: F-22 flying - Red Stamp on side saying "John Kerry voted against this program".... B-1 flying - Red Stamp on side saying "John Kerry voted against this program". etc, etc, etc...
Video Showing: More awesome weaponry in action.
Voice Over: If it were up to John Kerry, we'd have to resort to throwing medals at the enemy, because we wouldn't have the weapons systems to defeat them.
Voice Over: The US Military won another decisive battle against a dictatorial tyrant by defeating Saddam Hussein and his henchmen in Iraq.
Video clips: "Pick of the litter" smart weapons in action in Iraq. (This leaves the viewer with an image of the systems working)
Voice over: These systems have changed the face modern warfare, and their precision has saved countless lives on both sides.
Final video: Picture of a B-52 carpet bombing, Marines in a rice paddy, a bandaged soldier being medivac'd - zoom in tight on his face, showing blood, pain, fear
Final Voice over: This is the only face of warfare Kerry seems to understand and favor. Can we afford him as Comander-in-Chief?
Fade to black, if possible NO other graphics, text, disclaimers, sponsors, or any other distraction from that final image of a wounded GI.

Work in the areas where we know the majority would find objectionable. I would emphasize the various reasons why American can't trust him to lead us in the war on terror.Of course you're right. Ridicule could work, though. The idiot doesn't even know how to make or eat a Philly Cheese Steak. Show him up to be an out of touch elitist. Depending on the audience, that could work as well as bringing up his far left political views on the military, supporting the UN, and aiding terrorist regimes. A blend of both would be best, with a generous dose of humor. Anybody have a pic of Kerry trying to eat a hot dog, hahaha!

More readable version:
Voice Over: The US Military won a decisive battle against Terrorism by defeating the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Video: F-18s, B-1s, Apache Helicopters, and other advanced weapons systems in action in Afghanistan.
Suddenly, in mid-flight rubber stamped "Kerry voted Against (system)" thuds one by one onto each weapons system. Voice over goes, silent, and lets the images speak for themselves.
Voice Over: The US Military won another decisive battle against a dictatorial tyrant by defeating Saddam Hussein and his henchmen in Iraq.
Video: "Pick of the litter" smart weapons in action in Iraq.
Final Voice over: This is the only face of warfare Kerry seems to understand and desire. Can we afford him as Comander-in-Chief?
Freeze frame, fade to black (or red?) still tight on the face of the wounded GI, if possible NO other graphics, text, disclaimers, sponsors, or any other distraction from that final image of a wounded/dying GI.
