Wanted: Preferably Dead $0.01
As you have noticed, there has been an increased level of "troll traffic" at FR, so I have decided to make lemonade out of lemons and placed a $0.01 USD reward out for every Troll ZOT!ed at Free Republic. The contribution to the Bush re-elecion campaign, Republican candidates, and the RNC will be based on the total number of ZOT!ed Tolled blasted away between 2/16/2004 and Election Day. The AdminMods are highly effective in what they do so the final total could be a rather large sum.
If you are wondering why I'm only contributing $0.01 per ZOT!, ask yourself this - are trolls really worth more than a penny each? Trolls are vastly overvalued as it stands right now 8^)
Trolls think they can come to Free Republic and try crash our party - they are wrong. We're planning to turn the tables on them and going to use their numbers against them to help conservative candidates. We would appreciate your support by freep-mailing me that you want to be on the ZOT!List or want to help in other ways.
I appreciate your time for considering this proposal.

I have started a FOTKI album which contains ZOT-related graphics. I perused past threads and gathered up all anti-troll images I could find. Feel free to use them (some have a copyright; I'd get permission from the freeper first).
If you see a great graphic that does not already reside in my ZOT album, please let me know.

I think it is "revel in the lamentations of their women". If it isn't, it should be. It's better.

You could be right--it's been a while since I watched the movie. I guess I'll have to watch it again to check :)

I think we lose sight of how specialized and entirely new a jargon has been created on the internet for such situations; I realize it is in jest yet it does also serve a function. Thats what makes it strange. I would like a panel of psychologists, sociologists and language profs to analyze the entire thing.
Oh, sociologists have already studied this, there isn't anything unique in it. It's a naturally developing phenomenon when you have groups of people organize around a common interest. As they build a history together and cohere into a group, they develop internal meanings related to events, inside "jokes" and inside "language". Think of any family... they can say to one another "come on, don't do an Aunt Marge" and break up into peals of laughter.
The Internet is a large community but did develop a specialized language for dealing with some aspects of it... Free Republic is just a much smaller sub-set of the Internet community and developed it's own specialized language for dealing with some aspects of the life in the forum :-)

Yep... great fun when the mice trample themselves rushing into the trap ;-)
Won't it drive them crazy to find out that the more they pester us, the more the GOP will get in donations? LOL

A week ago or so, I called for judging trolls based upon the Olympic scale, called the Trollympics: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1075319/posts needless to say, I, the one with the profile, the one seeking to become involved, was accused of being a troll by someone with no profile.
