Four years ago, its most public advocate, Pat Buchanan, ran for president of the United States, and carried Palm Beach. By accident. Great line! Krauthammer is brave, brilliant, and funny.

Excellent beginning. Bump for later.

Great line! Krauthammer is brave, brilliant, and funny. We owe Pat and the Democrat precinct workers who told the Palm Beach retirees how to vote for Buchannan big time.

If someone invades your house, you call the cops. Who do you call if someone invades your country? You dial Washington. We've dialed Washington, and all we get is a "busy" signal, followed by the demand we legalise the invaders and stop whining!

One thing Krauthammer doesn't touch on in his what do we do in a unipolar world article is: what happens if the "unipole" implodes. Given the erosion of the rule of law in America and what I would say is a marked acceleration of same this isn't all that farfetched, and it is complicated by the relative thiness of our military power. "Interesting times" ahead or business as usual--who the heck knows?

Here's what I think God's role for America in the world is; to demonstrate the absolute best humans can do on their own, and that it still comes up way short of what is needed.
