"It's finally somebody saying, 'Yes, you can do this,'" said Peter Subers, 57, of Washington County, N.Y."
No, they can't do that. There was a referendum on this, overwhelmingly passed by Californians, that you cannot do this.
They are trying to punt to the 9th circus, where judges trump the will of the people.

Fourteen year olds are discriminated solely because of their age and are not allowed to get married in California what is stopping the mayor from granting them licenses as well?

Declan Fitzgerald-Yu, 3, watches as his parents Danny Yu and Patrick Fitzgerald are married in a ceremony at City Hall in San Francisco, Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004. In an unprecedented spree of same-sex marriages that has challenged California law and sent conservative groups scrambling for court intervention, about 300 people lined up Saturday morning outside City Hall to secure marriage licenses, and then take each other as 'spouse for life'' in brief vows that have given San Francisco's seat of government the feel of a Las Vegas wedding chapel. This is the last time I ignore a "MEGA BARF ALERT" warning. I'm going to be spending all afternoon cleaning up my keyboard.

Am I the only one who's homosexual friends weren't in long-term monogamous relationships? Come to think of it, in none of the articles are they described as monogamous.
To: I still care
This can't go to the 9th Circuit, which is an appellate court for Federal Cases.

Our neighbors, two women, married in their church about 10 years ago. They are monogamous, as far as we all know, and they are proud of it. I think marriage, by it's very nature, increases monogamy in society and is therefore a good and healthy thing for these homosexuals.

If they married on Saint Valentine's Day, and public offices are closed on Sunday and on Monday ("President's Day), then by Tuesday their marriages will all have outlasted Britney Spears's.

I was friends with quite a few homosexual men and women. My best friend was a homosexual man (with AIDS). Neither he nor his friends were monogamous. My friend was in a relationship with a man who was quite a bit older. My friend used to complain all the time that he wasn't getting enough sex at home, so he went actively looking for it (I believe he was upfront about his AIDS status).
I had a girlfriend who was homosexual and unable to maintain a stable relationship. She used to jump into them and then jump out months later. I knew quite a few homosexual women through her and none of them were able to maintain long-term relationships.
BTW, both of my friends were sexually molested as children.
