NC ALERT: Leftist "anti-war" rally in Fayetteville planned for March 20, 2004
NC Peace Hub ^
Posted on 02/14/2004 10:41:05 AM PST by tgslTakoma
It seems that the usual suspects (United for Peace and Justice, International ANSWER, National Lawyers Guild, International Socialists, Muslim American Society, etc.) have had some difficulty amassing the requisite number of sheep to do another "Mass March on Washington," so they are instead planning multiple smaller events across the country on March 20th.
Heads-up North Carolina FReepers - they are coming to Fayetteville, NC.
From NCPeaceHub's website, here is their announcement:
March 20th: THE WORLD STILL SAYS NO TO WAR
Fayetteville, North Carolina- 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Local: www.Ncpeacehub.org National: www.unitedforpeace.org
One year ago on February 15th, 2003, millions of people took to the streets to say no to the impending war on Iraq. On March 20th, 2004, the one year anniversary of the U.S. Invasion of Iraq, people from around North Carolina and the South will march and rally in Fayetteville to demand Real Support for the Troops: Money for Jobs and Education, not War and Occupation. Sponsored by Military Families Speak Out, Veterans for Peace, United for Peace and Justice and over 100 local peace & justice organizations, the March and rally on March 20th in Fayetteville is part of a global day of action to say: The World Still Says No to War. Organizers are seeking endorsements, donations, peacekeepers and other volunteers. Durham and Chapel Hill bus tickets are available from the Regulator Books, the Know Bookstore, and Internationalist Books. More information is available on the web at www.NCpeacehub.org.

Stop painting everyone with a large brush that fits your particular liking, and certainly don't take pleasure in the idea that they might be injured for speaking out for their religious beliefs! The main organizers of this 'march' is A.N.S.W.R.
That group is out and out anti-American communist. Gloss over all you want but that is the bottom line.
If other special interest groups join in with them, they are being judged by the company they keep.
Didn't you listen to your Mama?

My note: I find it laughable that they will have what they call "Peacekeeper Training" in preparation for this event. The "Peacekeepers" (usually National Lawyers Guild "Green Hats") are the ones who sent troublemakers into our permitted DC rallies to tear down our signs, shove us around, disrupt our speakers, vandalize our rented porta-potties... and then they watch to see how we reacted to their incitement. Hint: LEOs were always prompt to our calls for assistance. Our sterling track record of ZERO arrests on our side stands to this day, even after countless assaults by the "Peacekeepers." |

One last thing before I settle in for the night...
I copied below the DC Chapter's general Rules for Protesting; which have been adopted by many other Free Republic Chapters over the years as they have held their own very successful and peaceful protests and counter protests in their own locales.
RULES FOR PROTESTING
You are welcome to join us in our protests, but if you do, you need to observe the following rules:
No violence, no threats, no profanity, no racism, no law-breaking. |
Law enforcement officers must be treated with respect. |
Stay out of the street at all times, except when using a crosswalk with the traffic light. |
Do not block the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic. Keep your signs from hanging over into the street. |
Do not block the signs of, nor get within 10 feet of, our opponents. Do not interfere with any media coverage of them. Our First Amendment rights are their rights, too. |
Any arguments should be at 10 feet away to avoid conflict arising from passions on both sides. If you choose to get close to them physically, do so in friendship as fellow Americans only. |
Do not give the middle finger, call people jerks, tell them to go home or get a job. |
Take the high road. Be civil, but resolute, when you are cursed at or given the middle finger; point out the rudeness of the leftists by chanting, "Mean spirited arrogant condescending liberal." |
Remember, we are here to support the rule of law under the U.S. Constitution.
These protest rules have stood us well for the past four plus years and have earned us the respect and friendship of conservatives everywhere.
Thank you for standing up for America.

The Lou Plummer had his reply to me yanked. It was interesting. I got to read it anyway. I think he was booted but came right back as k240. (k240 joined on March 10, 2004.)

Actually, the main organizer IS NOT A.N.S.W.E.R. It's United for Peace and Justice. (Oh, yea. The Quakers are their front group this time. Perhaps we need to let the Quakers know they're being used?)
A.N.S.W.E.R. is holding their rally in Charlotte. Charlotteans don't care about rallies. They're wasting their time, but who cares?
United for Peace and Justice is equally connected to the communists, and there will be plenty of local A.N.S.W.E.R. people in attendance.

Perhaps I or some other FReeper will give him a call today.

BORROW and RETURN IT IN BETTER CONDITION THAN BEFORE. Borrow away . . .
(I'm not sure which one it was, but I'm sure Prime Choice won't mind if it's one of his.)

I live in Asheville and would like to attend. If there's anyone else in my neck of the woods that would like to car pool, let me know.
Also I'm new to the board so I'd like to be on a list of any planned meeting up.

Is there a "FReep fund" to which I could contribute? I feel terrible because we can't be there!
