BARB BUSH'S BELLY BASH
NY Post ^ | February 13, 2004 | Dick Johnson

FRISKY First Daughter Barbara Bush put on a belly-dancing show at Chelsea hot spot Viscaya early yesterday while imitating the undulating tummy of a sword-twirling Japanese dancer named Yoko. Bush jumped up and joined Yoko at the socialite-studded after-party for Jennifer Nicholson's fashion show, prompting partygoers to throw flowers and hundreds of dollars in cash at the feet of Bush and Yoko. Commenting on the trays of margaritas and Veuve Clicquot champagne delivered to Bush's table before her gutsy performance, one wag quipped, "I hope the Secret Service is driving her home." Socialites Amanda Hearst, Elisabeth Kieselstein-Cord and Tinsley Mortimer hosted the "Magic Carpet Ride"-themed bash and post-show supper at adjoining restaurant Sette. The glammy guests included Ivanka Trump (hand-in-hand with Q-Tip heir and "Born Rich" director Jamie Johnson), Muffie-Potter Aston, Somers Farkas, Kimberly Stewart and Robert De Niro's ex-wife, Grace Hightower. Nicholson, the thirtysomething designer daughter of Jack Nicholson, also showed off her boy toy, 24-year-old Warren Hode, the sole male model in her show.

1 should always conduct 1self in a manner that conveys respect upon others (not to mention 1self). In this case, these people know not only they are going to be in the public eye, but they are representing the President and hence the nation, indeed. If *any1* should comport themselves well (and it would be a much better world if every1 did), it's those who are likely going to be caught on camera, and even *more* so those who are in political office - of the US, no less!

At the very least, no whining from any1 about "privacy" when your life naturally puts you on the camera radar.

There was a time when 14 year-olds were expected to behave like adults. We're excusing 20-somethings? How pathetic we've become (primarily due to liberal thought processes)! :-\

Let's see, she's been arrested for fake IDs to get booze, and she's belly dancing (very much a sexually suggestive form to again objectify women as nothing but sex objects) in public. Sorry, but there are plenty of us who never did even these "minor" things. I don't see how these actions make their daddy *proud*!

Hey Miles Standish, lighten up. She is now over 21, belly dancing is hardly stripping, and she is about to graduate from one of the top 5 universities in the country. If she wants to blow off some steam in the big city, more power to her.

Still doesn't make daddy proud. Still doesn't make it right, either!

Oh and thanks for calling me a moralist. ;-) Damn proud of it! :D We don't get in trouble - but that's a *bad* thing, isn't it??? At least, that's always the implication both from the name-calling (don't worry, I'm not so offended, but it *is* name-calling) and the defense of philistine ways. ;-)

Yes about 40 years ago but I never lived under the pressure these two young ladies are living under and I did some things that were much more foolish but that doesnt help her.I honestly think they both resent the situation they are in and I dont say that being mean. How can you live your life with the Secret Service around all the time?

I just toked me up another one. I did nt say that mean spirited. Those young ladies have to resent living under a microscope and I feel for them.

Yikes. Re post #74.

I was the age of these girls in the fifties and we partied hard, much smoking and drinking, but guess what? We all settled down and became responsible citizens.

If you can't have fun when you're young and single life would be a drag.

"I was saying that chelsea is an amoral, horse-faced, big-butted bafoon no matter where she is currently table dancing.

Europe loves the mealy-mouthed buck-toothed, low-classed, dweeb."

But how do you really feel?

A lot of the talifreepers have never let loose and had a good time (even when they were young and free) and begrudge anyone who has.

That being said I quit drinking at 22 because I was having too much "fun".

Hey, I don't hold the past against some1. But it better not seep into the present! Problem is, people who behave that way tend to keep doing it. I know people my age who still can't grow up and still talk in terms of partying and getting in cliques.

Why does every1 who "partied hard" think that any other life is boring? Why do they assume those of us who remain straight-laced are just drags? (Does this mean your current settled-down life is a drag and you hate it?) I assure you I am anything but boring and have plenty of coherent, concious fun. I just don't find drinking and being semi-concious and dangerous at *all* interesting, and I get sick of people - both as youngsters and oldsters - trying to make me feel inferior or like a freak for never having been "cool" and doing the whole drink/drugs/smoke/sex thing. Put it this way: never having done any of that never hurt *any1* in any way, including myself. I'm sorry if that sounds self-righteous, but it's the truth that the majority opinion always implied that we're all just a bunch of loser geeks who have no life. I tend to react to that superior attitude after so many years.

she is a gorgous knockout girl and has what it takes all on her own. Too bad you are so immature to understand that.

What the hell are you talking about?

Too bad you are too stupid not to have noticed you have me confused with someone else...

My post certainly wasn't intended to imply that people that didn't party were or are losers.

The point is that if you are going to do it you will no doubt do it while young and have few responsibilities.

Even my kids are through with their partying days and it won't be long before my grandchildren start.

Hey, again, sorry for any hard feelings. That last post about talifreepers really set me off to boot. I understand what you're saying, for sure, and not everyone who parties stays that way (hence, I can forgive W if he ever did anything that the Dems like to dredge up - esp. if he doesn't do it *now*, like certain overrated presidents). Take care and forgive me for getting a bit too unctious.

Certain words and phrases just set me off!

Ever since klinton sent that little snot-nose to the olymics to "represent the USA" her name was added to my list of "if I hear this name/word/phrase I'll loose it.

Presidents who think voters want to see the presidential issue going around and representing us are pure ego maniacs. In klintons case, well. Enough already.

I'm glad you're perfect.

I'm glad your kids are perfect.

I'm glad Barbara is not. She is so cute. She hasn't done anything at all outrageous and everyone is forgetting that any small thing she's done is totally blown out of proportion by the press.

That’s what happens when you return to an article three years after it was posted.
