Yikes. Re post #74.

I was the age of these girls in the fifties and we partied hard, much smoking and drinking, but guess what? We all settled down and became responsible citizens.

If you can't have fun when you're young and single life would be a drag.

A lot of the talifreepers have never let loose and had a good time (even when they were young and free) and begrudge anyone who has.

That being said I quit drinking at 22 because I was having too much "fun".

Hey, I don't hold the past against some1. But it better not seep into the present! Problem is, people who behave that way tend to keep doing it. I know people my age who still can't grow up and still talk in terms of partying and getting in cliques.

Why does every1 who "partied hard" think that any other life is boring? Why do they assume those of us who remain straight-laced are just drags? (Does this mean your current settled-down life is a drag and you hate it?) I assure you I am anything but boring and have plenty of coherent, concious fun. I just don't find drinking and being semi-concious and dangerous at *all* interesting, and I get sick of people - both as youngsters and oldsters - trying to make me feel inferior or like a freak for never having been "cool" and doing the whole drink/drugs/smoke/sex thing. Put it this way: never having done any of that never hurt *any1* in any way, including myself. I'm sorry if that sounds self-righteous, but it's the truth that the majority opinion always implied that we're all just a bunch of loser geeks who have no life. I tend to react to that superior attitude after so many years.
