Will Press Pounce on Drudge's Kerry Rumor?
Editor & Publisher ^ | Feb. 12, 04 | By E&P Staff

Posted on 02/12/2004 2:06:27 PM PST by churchillbuff

...Late this morning, DrudgeReport.com alleged that a new scandal was about to rock the campaign of Democratic frontrunner John Kerry: some sort of purported recent marital "infidelity" that involved a woman who once worked for the Associated Press, and has now supposedly "fled the country." ...[snip] Reached by E&P for comment, AP spokesman Jack Stokes said, "We simply don't comment on stories we are pursuing or not pursuing."

Leonard Downie Jr., executive editor of The Washington Post, acknowledged that his staff had begun to dig deeper into the life and career of Kerry, but said he had not heard anything about an alleged infidelity. "What we're finding, I don't know," he said. "This is the first we are looking into him this way."

"A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Kerry has been underway at Time magazine, ABC News, the Washington Post and the Associated Press, where the woman in question once worked,"

Well...isn't that precious. A "serious investigation" is underway by the mediacrats. Why is it that democratic scandals are always seriously investigated BEFORE going to press while Republican scandals...or even accusations, are just thrown out ther without any investigation (See Bush AWOL). I have yet to see the lamestream media report on this story for which they have known about for some time now. As always, when a story is detrimental to Democrats it is Drudge or the alternative media that breaks it before the mediacrats will touch it. They did the same with the Lewisnsky and Broaderick scandals...which they both knew about, but failed to report until the conservative side broke it. The media no longer investigates Democrats...it holds stories "until" they see if they may break. With Republicans like Bush, however, they turn rumors and fallacious allegations into headline news.

Having a mistress just confirms that he's French-looking and French-acting. How bourgeois of us to find fault.

It was funny watching Judy Woodruff on CNN today. She knew we knew and we knew she knew we knew except she didn't say anything about the Kerry scandal even though we could read her thoughts.

I don't think she's that pretty.
Not to mention her execrable taste in men if she did get involved with Kerry.

The Washington Post is too busy trying to find 1972 stool samples from Bush to pursue this.

Sorry, lad, but the filing deadline date for Demo presidential candidates has passed in most states. Looks as though, like Hillary, you'll need to wait until '08.

Yep, we'll have to for the story to break in those sources already named. Apparently it has broken already in UK press - The Scotsman.

Tonight on The Daily Show: Bush is stupid. Cheney is an evil genius. Bush was afraid of Gooks. Kerry still leads in the polls.

I wonder what Kerry's wife will do. I recall, that when asked about what Hillary should do about Bill cheating on her, she said something on the order of- shoot the ba$tard... Should be interesting.

Of course the mainstream media will ignore this, at least until events leave them no choice. You can't expect them to care about being AWOL from a marriage when they can't even define what marriage is.

I'm absolutely certain that if the story is true, she already knows everything.
