CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS - Thread 1
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive** **Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

"Waiting for proof" hasn't stopped them with the AWOL (non-)story

I saw Estrich on H&C that night and she did say the papers were sitting on this story. Isn't she working on Kerry's campaign now? Perhaps that's why she's trying to back off of her earlier comments.

I thought the democraps didn't care about stuff like this.

Susan Estrich has been all a twitter about Kerry. She was Dukakis's campaign manager and Kerry was his Lt Governor, so she is probably thinking back to those great glory years of hers, hoping to recapture her great, oh-so-forgotten youth.
Is anyone else sick of politics? I think the Democrats are doing all of this just so that us "normal" folk turn our backs on the whole process.
And as far as the National Guard thing goes, I wish the White House would quit supplying eveidence of a non-issue and just say a "John F.ing Kerry "to you.

"Front-runner John Kerry also committed to Sunday's Democratic debate in Milwaukee that will bring together the five Democrats still in the race."Now THAT'S a debate I might actually watch (it'll be a first)

I don't know, but this whole thing is making my brain hurt :) So many suspects, so many stories, so many motives, so little time.

I thought the democraps didn't care about stuff like this.THAT's the wildcard we should condider. If it was a Pubbie, he'd be finished - WE wouldn't vote for him, cause we have morals. As for the Dems, it may actually have the OPPOSITE effect, and win him support. Go figure.

Mr. Lincoln posted the debate will be held Saturday rather than Sunday.
Yes - at Marwuette University in Milwaukee on Saturday nite.
His source may be more accurate than the San Jose Mercury.

Susan Estrich is half the time drunk (lampshade on her head), or just an old hag liberal California lawyer without a drink in front of her.
No matter, she's wasted. What a waste.

To be perfectly honest, I lived in Montgomery, Alabama in 1972 and I never once saw Lt. Bush. He didn't visit my high school, I didn't run into him at the mall, and he never once attended our church. Hmmmmm? Have you contacted the media yet? Sounds like breaking news to me.

Is anyone else sick of politics? It's not the politics, it's the POLITICIANS.
If it weren't for POLITICIANS this country would be a hell of a lot better off !! We need LEADERS !!

I agree with you about HRC's not wanting to be #2. That is why, paradoxically, I think she would rather be the VP candidate this time around. If HRC is the VP candidate with Edwards or Clark, Bush will win easily. But HRC wouldn't really lose because no one will blame the drafted-at-the-last-minute VP candidate for losing to an incumbent. Then, HRC will be the Presidential nominee in 2008, having shored up many sympathy votes for having lost when she ran for VP in 2004.
I maintain that HRC wants to run for VP and lose in 2004 so that she can run for President and win in 2008.

Please don't post that picture. It's a fake.
