CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS - Thread 1
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive** **Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

LOL. I'm the wrong person to ask :) I've been away from the computer all day and came home to this. Though I suspected something was up when Howie got back into the race. Seriously, though, I'm wondering which story and/or wench they're going to be talking about. I'm thinking that's a big reason for the delay. Get their stories straight to avoid revealing more than they have to. And if they think one wench is all there is...

Strangely enough, Clark endorsed Kerry this afternoon. Not exactly true. To quote AP: "Democratic officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Clark would bestow his endorsement on the front-runner on Friday in Madison, Wis."

Also, I bet Hillary didn't want to go against Juliani or Pataki (NY would definitely be attainable to the GOP, and she could never capture the South) in 08 for that matter. I suspect they think her time is now!!!

Some folks are politicizing the character of my military service during the Vietnam conflict. As you know, I served in the Texas Air National Guard. I completed my service obligation satisfactorily as did many other Americans during this divisive era. I will not discuss the matter further. Instead I choose now to focus on America's future.I agree BUMP

To be perfectly honest, I lived in Montgomery, Alabama in 1972 and I never once saw Lt. Bush. He didn't visit my high school, I didn't run into him at the mall, and he never once attended our church. Hmmmmm?

He won the DC primary, which was pretty delegate rich in comparison to Iowa and NH. He was still ahead of Kerry after NH because of it, IIRC.

Agree with your post 78. There's enough issue/record stuff to pound Kerry with, and it was starting to happen. But there's plenty of time for that - right now someone is trying to take Kerry down BEFORE he is declared the nominee. We can sit back and enjoy the fireworks, none of this is helping Kerry or the Dems.

I think it was always going to be a Rodham & Her Minion ticket. Don't know if it'll be Edwards - think it will be a woman. After all, if Hillary were elected, we'd need a First Lady.
(Not that I'm implying anything.) :)
Dick Morris on Hannity now.

Have I missed anything in the last two hours? Depends on who you were with. ;-)

Under normal circumstances, yes. But unfortunately, considering the stories I write, I am always trying to avoid ANYONE who tries to follow me home.

Still waiting for the "mainstream" media to pick this up....
Any bets on how long it will take/if it will happen?
To: NYC Republican
I don't have time to read all the posts on this. (It's tax time.) Why did the woman have to leave the country?
To: Always Right
I was wrong...
You were right.
The REAL delegate numbers are:
John Kerry - 511
John Edwards - 164
Howard Dean - 184
Wesley Clark - 100
To secure the presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Boston in July a candidate needs to amass 2,162 delegates out of a possible 4,322.
