We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

Update 2:

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN

**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

MORE

A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!

In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]

The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Update 3

FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

Rush said that it took 4 days for the mainstream to report on the Monica story after Drudge reported it.

Clark endorsing Kerry is to give deniability to the Clinton's that their fingerprints aren't all over this.

They WILL try to ping this on the VRWC.

Clark is just trying very clumsily to disassociate himself from the story

So much fog on this story. It'll several days to make sense of these developments.

There is a simple question but a question of enormous consequence: Do we really want to remove a President of the United States because he tried to avoid discovery in a civil case of a private, consensual affair with a woman who was subsequently determined to be irrelevant to the case, which case itself was thrown out as wholly without merit under the law? That is the question.

Let me be clear about the President's behavior so no one misinterprets. I am as deeply disturbed by it as all of us are here in the Senate. But I am not sure we need additional moralizing about something that the whole Nation has already condemned and digested. The President lied to his countrymen, to family, friends, to all of us. And if one is not enormously concerned by gifts not surrendered, conversations which can't refresh recollection, jobs produced with uncommon referral and speed, certainly one must be unsettled by the mere lack of easy compliance with judicial inquiry by a President. That is of grave concern to all. It deserves our censure.

But let me say as directly as I can that no amount of inflated rhetoric, or ideological or moral hyperextension can lift the personal, venial aspects of the President's actions to the kind of threat to the fabric of the country contemplated by the Founding Fathers. I must say that I am truly somewhat surprised to see so many strict constructionists of the Constitution giving such new and free interpretation to the clear intent of the framers.

An excerpt from Kerry's statement on Clinton's impeachment Feb 12, 1999. A certain amount of irony here.

Any chance this is a scam by Kerry's campaign to give Kerry an explanation (e.g., you can't believe internet rumors) to ward off future, and true, criticisms of his behavior?

Mystery of Kerry and the Intern

By Mark Sage, PA News, in New York

Allegations against Vietnam war hero John Kerry today threatened his runaway presidential campaign.

Right-wing news web site The Drudge Report – which broke the Monica Lewinsky scandal – claimed a woman close to Senator Kerry recently left America at his behest.

DEVELOPING.....LOL....

Infidelity is a serious matter between a husband and wife. But as far as this election goes, this is small potatos.

Not if you actually want to be able to trust your president. If his wife can't trust him why should we. Honor still means a lot to most Americans (especially during a time of war), just not the 30% hard core democrats who have proven over and over they have no morals or honor. It just reinforces that notion that the dems take the low road when ever possible in the last several years.

A week ago, the Boston Herald's Inside Track column discussed a National Enquirer investigation on John Kerry which claimed Kerry is "an admitted pot smoker who had an eye for Hollywood honeys, namely Morgan Fairchild, Michelle Phillips and Catherine Oxenberg. In fact, Morgan and Michelle were so turned off by him, they both contributed to the other candidates seeking the nomination," the Herald stated. (from World Net Daily)

but nonetheless many of those swing votes went to Clinton, even with his past record and history exposed.

Clinton and the leftist press attacked the messengers, thus creating the myth of victim hood. The dim's problem here is that Clinton, by his later actions gave credibility back to the messengers. The swing voter will be much more vigilante.
