We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

Update 2:
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
Update 3 FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

"Then I suspect that's the reason why the media has been pressing the president so hard on the National Guard story. They HAD to know about this and wanted to muddy him before Kerry got his turn."
I agree. I've been thinking the press seemed more zealous, more motivated than just their usual "get Bush" strategy. The timing was way too early in the campaign, the Guard story had been done to death in 2000 yet, reporters were suddenly obsessed with it.

If this story is shown to be completly bogus within 24 hours than this will take Drudge out of this election cycle, paint Kerry as the victim of a probable 'pub smear, and vaccinate him against the next real scandal. Bingo!
Add the phrase, "And that Jane Fonda story was just as credible" and you could be on to something. If so, we're playing right into their hands.

"Oh yeah, we knew about this YEARS ago -- this is old news! No problemo!"
So now we know:
1) Lehane is the source
2) This surfaced very recently
2) Kerry supporters are about to take the gas pipe
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Kerry had to know this was coming.
It would have been so much smarter for him to break the news himself.

You know.....(puffing a pipe here).....in a way, I am actually hoping that Hitlary is able to derail the democrat party internaly through these provocative, underground movements, and steel the nomination for herself.
Because even though I have reservations about Bush, HE WOULD ABSOLUTELY CLEAN HER CLOCK (politically speaking of course) in NOVEMBER.

He has had too much steam as of late, too many good poll results to get me to think that any of it matters to the average democrat voter. Democrat voters don't elect President's, swing voters do.

I'm sitting here thinking that if this were Bush, the cables would have been all over this, sourced or not, two hours ago.
Now I'm mad.

He(Lehane) also worked out here in Calif., for Grey Davis.

Maybe Kerry has been fooling around with Helen Thomas.

Remember West Coast Whackos in CA WA CO OR are primed for the primaries. This will get them back into Dean mode. Remember this connection LeHane worked for Gore and Gore endorses Dean - LeHane spies on Kerry and Kerry is toast.

Clark had a chance before losing both southern states. One would think if he had this, he would have used it then.

But, if Clinton would have been removed, I CAN'T FATHOM WHAT LIFE WITH PRESIDENT GORE WOULD HAVE BEEN.

FREE REPUBLIC CONTEST:1) HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR THE LAMESTREAM MEDIA TO ANNOUNCE THIS NEWS?
2) HOW MANY SECONDS WILL THE BIG 3 GIVE THIS TONIGHT?
3) HOW LONG WILL PETA JENNINGS SCOWL OR SMIRK AFTER READING THIS STORY?
4) WHO WILL BE THE FIRST REPORTER TO APOLIGIZE ABOUT ASKING KERRY ABOUT THIS AND THEN INTERUPT HIM BEFORE HE ANSWERS AND SAYS HE'S SORRY FOR BRINGING SUCH GARBAGE.
5) HOW SHORT A LIFE WILL THIS HAVE IN THE MEDIA?

She wants to be a last-minute candidate, and that can only happen in the midst of a meltdown at the Rat Convention. I agree and if the rats are truly of the mind that ABB will do, she'll look to be drafted. However, she's not stupid and while she waits to see how vulnerable GWB is by July, she will begin to make headlines echoing Dean/Kerry by blasting his policies.
