We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS -Drudge Alert (Thread II)

Update 2:
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
Update 3 FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

I can hardly believe we're this lucky. We're not. Howlin, this is not a good thing. Two months from now it would have been great, but not now. This means that either the nominee will be Edwards or it will be Hillary.
Since this was obviously done by the Clark camp it means it came straight from the Clintons.

It amazes me the dems think the GOP is doing this. Are they really that stupid? Clark is the one that fed the info to the reporters. Obviously it comes from the dem camp. What do they get out of trying to pretend it's something it's not?

Womens Groups will DISAVOW THE AFFAIR BUT WILL NOT DISAVOW Kerry, unless Hitlery orders them to.

maybe we all need to calm down. this might become a gennifer flowers. He is going to or already has denied it. If noone can prove it, the press is going to IGNORE IT. And they will turn their hatred on the normal folk, of course. Drudge might be shut down after this debacle if they do not have pretty convincing evidence. After all, Mr. Toon would have slid if there was no protein deposit.

So typical, huh? The real world swirling around them, they'd rather pontificate!

The reason Kerry is where he is today is because of his erectability.

Rush also believes that the Clintons are writing this one off for 2008. If Rush is correct, than GWB is less vulnerable than the media portrays. However after listening to Susan Estrich say that Hillary should have listen to Bill and got in in 2004 with the decline in GWB's poll numbers, I still feel Hillary is rethinking her decision and is looking to be drafted. Why Clinton is suggesting Edwards remain in the race is puzzling, if true. It could be to divide the party between Edwards/Dean with Hillary jumping in to unify them.
To: GeoPie
I agree with you, but they're forgetting one important person.
Al Gore.
Al WILL run in 2008. Bet the farm. He's sick of playing second fiddle to Bill & Hill. He's thinking of the Nixon model. He has plenty of loyalists, as well.

"The statement is that the allegations are false." --Kerry's DC Office, a few minutes ago
Sheesh. That could mean ANYTHING. For example, if the statement was "John Kerry bedded down one intern in Nantucket", and he had actually bedded down TWO interns, or rather, the same intern, but not only in Nantucket, but also in Boston, THEN THAT ALLEGATION "COULD BE FALSE".

I don't know if this is the death of Kerry. He might battle on and still win the nomination.
Edwards staying in makes sense because it gets his name out there. It keeps the press interested in the race as well.
