We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

Update 2:

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN

**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

MORE

A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!

In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]

The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Update 3

FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

He should still run and be a man about it. He should let the voters decide on whose Party's morals they believe in. If he is honest with himself and the nation, he should have nothing to be ashamed of and should admit everything and say SO WHAT.

Drudge says the Washington Post is working on the story. The Post had the Monica Lewinsky story via Michael Isikoff and sat on it until they got scooped by Drudge. I can't wait to see the Post tomorrow. There will be some heads rolling there for getting scooped by Drudge again!!

"What did they [CNN] know and when did they know it?"

Rumor is they've known it for a least a number of weeks...seems that anybody who wanted the RATS to win next November wouldda broke this story before the primaries began.

I can't wait to find out the truth, if we ever do...MUD

DU'ers...ROFLOL!!!

Kerry's wife has said several times that she would be willing to spend her $500,000,000 in the election if her "family is attacked." Apparently that's totally legal under campaign finance laws.

I think Karl Rove just picked a fight he cannot win.

It does give credence to the theory that the Clintons are looking to undercut the DemonRAT candidate this fall so as to open the door wide fer the HildaBeast to run in '08.

That's exactly what Rush is saying.

Can you believe FNC isn't carrying this????

It's not just Drudge - it's Washington Post, Time and ABC working on this story.

They HELD THIS STORY as long as they could because the HEAT WAS ON PRESIDENT BUSH!

WorldNetDaily is on it:

Democratic front-runner Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign is in peril amid allegations of infidelity, according to the Drudge Report.

"A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president," Drudge says.

Earlier this week, according to Drudge, Gen. Wesley Clark told a dozen reporters in an off-the-record conversation, "Kerry will implode over an intern issue … ."

Clark formally announced his withdrawal from the race yesterday. But former front-runner Howard Dean sees the "Kerry commotion" as a chance to revive his dying campaign, Drudge reports.

The allegation is why Dean "has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin," top campaign sources told Drudge.

"A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Kerry has been underway at Time magazine, ABC News, the Washington Post and the Associated Press, where the woman in question once worked," Drudge says.

Drudge says the woman recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry. A close friend of the woman, he reports, first approached a reporter late last year "claiming fantastic stories."

During his broadcast today, radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh speculated the bombshell information could have been leaked to Drudge by Bill or Hillary Clinton. He said if that were true, the irony is "just too juicy." Ex-president Bill Clinton was impeached after Drudge first publicized allegations of Clinton's own marital infidelity with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

"[This scandal] does not give new meaning to the name John 'F-ing' Kerry. It validates it," Limbaugh said.

More to come ...

ABC Radio Affiliate in Washington, D.C. broke with the Kerry/Associated Press intern sex and coverup story (very briefly) as the top of the news stories, about 10 minutes ago. Brief mention, basically parotting the Drudge text.

Will Press Pounce on Drudge's Kerry Rumor?

By E&P Staff

Published: February 12, 2004

NEW YORK Matt Drudge's Web site, which first broke allegations about President Bill Clinton's dalliance with a White House intern in 1998, is at it again.

Late this morning, DrudgeReport.com alleged that a new scandal was about to rock the campaign of Democratic frontrunner John Kerry: some sort of purported recent marital "infidelity" that involved a woman who once worked for the Associated Press, and has now supposedly "fled the country." According to the site, this story was being investigated by the AP, The Washington Post, Time magazine and ABC network.

Reached by E&P for comment, AP spokesman Jack Stokes said, "We simply don't comment on stories we are pursuing or not pursuing."

It also declared that General Wesley Clark, in an off-the-record chat with reporters earlier this week, predicted that the Kerry campaign would soon implode due to an "intern." It would seem strange, however, if he really believed that, that he would drop out of the race, as he did yesterday.

The site added, however, that the Kerry rumor helped explain why Howard Dean did stay in the race and has been increasingly aggressive in his attacks on Kerry this week.
