Bush Finds Party Faithful In an Ugly Mood

WASHINGTON -- For all the attention paid to partisanship in this town, the more interesting -- and consequential -- fights here in this election year will pit Republicans against Republicans.

A new level of tension is emerging between President Bush and the congressional Republicans he expects to deliver his election-year agenda. Among the sore points, Mr. Bush's initiative to give legal status to immigrant workers who are here illegally, a bid to attract Latino voters, instead has roiled the party's conservative faithful. Republicans have been put on the defensive over the President's policies on Iraq. And record deficits and spending suddenly have Republicans questioning his fiscal stewardship.

Whatever is your response - so I guess I was right - you have white man's guilt and can only talk the talk up there in your little comfortable setting in the snow where people like yourself can sit around and act elitist

I am not being elitist and what's this about guilt.

This is a big problem and the answer IMO will be to get those countries where these people are from to get rid of their corrupt govts and open up economic opportunity to them.

The answer is not to knee jerkingly blame and scream at people who are looking for economic opportunity, but to fix their economies.

Your rhetoric does nothing but fan the flames of xenophobia and does nothing to solve the real problem. Getting Latin American countries economic houses in order.

Do us a favor. Before you go out and tell us how everyone but you hasn't a clue how to govern, why don't you and your crowd go out and convince a majority of Americans that your views are the right views. Until you do that, quit wasting our time.

I'm not pissed off at you at all. I'm just curious as to why you believe that you and your crowd could possibly win an election. Governing is about making compromises, and a Republican majority will not be built overnight. I expected Bush to have to spend boatloads of money. I'm not happy about it, but then again, we are at war, in case you hadn't noticed.

A lot of the people who bitch about Bush on this board will end up voting for him in November. Why? They are reasonable people and they are aware of the alternative should he lose. They take this war seriously and they understand that victory in this war trumps everything, even government spending. And most reasonable conservatives don't want to join you in some pointless Viking funeral while John Kerry appoints nominees to the the Supreme Court who would disrespect the Constitution and lose the War.

Please go out and win an election. Then come lecture me.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Me and my crowd? Me and my crowd make the difference that puts the RINOs in power.Think of it this way. Your a Sales Manager and 1/3 yout team makes not just theirs, but your numbers, for the other 2/3 as well. But you don't pay them , comp them, or even thank them. You tell them to go away, and expect no return of your efforts / investment, bacause that's your job and besides for everyone of you, there's two of us.

Or like someone so very aptly put last night; Rove and gang's election strategy is equal to a calculation of exactly how much they can cheat on their wives, without driving the wife away.

Well ya know what? I'm thinking beyond this quarter's sale quota and whether we make the numbers or not. I think long term where the Sales Mgr. is forced out of his job and the new guy in, remembers the lessons that cost his predecessor his job.

Words don't mean Jack S#@^.

Actions and results are what matter.

If you want to beat your chest like a lobotomized chimpanzee and propound about the Constitution and watering the Tree of Liberty with the Blood of Tyrants and lose elections, you and your microscopic IQ are free to do so.

A "free market" approach will end up putting a price on the value of a human life. This is what ultimately I am asking. Should we (as a society) put a dollar and cents value on life here?

We already do.

The wealthiest people get the best healthcare money can buy, the middle class gets only what it can afford, and the poor get only we the taxpayer can afford.

You think they are going to make the heroic efforts to save you as they will bill Gates, if you have no inusurance and can't pay for it?

I have seen for myself people being turned away from the ER of a private hospital, and told to go to the County Hospital becaue they were uninured.

Will Betty Ford take you if you find that you cannot stop drinking, or will you be more likely to turn to AA?

Prices are put on human lives all the time.

I believe that Blue Cross/Blue Shield has a $3 million lifetime benefit for most of it's policyholders. Some companies have a $1 million lieftime benefit.

I guess that's "their" price.

Actually, you and your crowd don't matter. You're conservatives, but you're from the old Brother John Birch wing of the Movement that routinely embarrasses the rest of conservatism by threatening to take your ball and stomp home if you don't get to make the rules.

There are more people in the Conservative movement than you clowns. You don't get to make the rules unless you have proven you can win elections. Until then, take your anger and go pound sand.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Don't tell conservative voters to go pound sand, man.

Consciously or not, you're doing John Kerry's work for him.

Don't have time to play in this sandbox, but I had to drop in and say that I think this is very accurate reporting by the WSJ.

Rare to find anyone in the media who is as clued in on reality as they appear to be.

Gee, what a great future I have in your RINO party. I can stay if I bring in the vote to keep RINO's in power. But just shut up, sit in the corner, know your place, and expect nothing. Or leave. Well you're dumb as dogs**t is, when I leave, so do you (from power).

Ya can't win without the base - just go ask your former last RINO Prez; Daddy Bush. No doubt a hero of yours.
