[history]
February 12, 2004 -- AS a political talent scout, Bill Clinton looks like a bit of a dud right now - and that's just one reason wife Hillary's presidential prospects suddenly look dimmer. No one did more to create the Wesley Clark 2004 boomlet than Bill Clinton, who praised the retired general to the skies as one of the Democratic party's two top "stars" - Hillary was the other one - and encouraged a host of allies to back Clark.

Could Hillary be Kerry's running mate for vice president? Not likely. As a pro-Kerry Democrat puts it: "George Bush has a problem right now that the Republican base isn't excited. All we have to do is put Hillary on the ticket and we rev up their base and do their work for them."Interesting.

Deborah Orrin is dead wrong. Wesley "Mad Hare" Clark was brought by the Clintons into the primary as the anti-Dean candidate. He served his purpose. Now the Clintons are looking at how to stop John F. Kerry so they retain their control of the party and clear the decks after Election Day for Hillary to begin her 2008 presidential campaign.

I hope Kerry does put on Hillary. If they lose Hillary becomes the toast of the party for the next four years. Kerry isn't going to be elected President and the Clintons will see to it that Hillary has the chance to be nominated next time around.

Who's this Belinda? Interesting.
To: goldstategop
You are quite right. Clark was never intended to win. He was only there to take the wind out of Dean's sails.

Interesting to you. The "senior" Senator for NY is very very very miffed.

I don't believe that
Madame Hillary will accept anything less than the Oval Office...with her considerable derriere sitting behind the desk.

I agree with you. But Hillary would want to get some national exposure first - which is where being John F. Kerry's running mate comes in. And on the off-chance he does somehow win in November, Hillary's just a heartbeat away from the Oval Office and Kerry's Massacide can easily be arranged at a time convenient for Madame Hillary's ambitions.

More likely Clinton Plan:
Kerry's prostate problem forces him to retire suddenly.
VP becomes Pres.
Hillary appointed VP byConstitutional amendment (like Agnew -> Rockefeller).
Convenient Arkancide and X42 becomes "First He-Whore"

<< They say [Hitlery is] a national star and Dems will rally behind her whenever she makes her move. >>
Yep.
They will.
After all, like her every-bit-as-loathsome and fearsome "spouse," mr rodman, she is yeller.
Gutless as they come.
AND she's a dog.
Wow.
A double-winner "DemocRAT!"

Over 70% of her own party doesn't want her to run according to a Fox News poll last week.
