Vietnam Veteran Exposes Kerry's 'Phony' Anti-war Testimony

Vietnam Veteran Exposes Kerry's 'Phony' Anti-war Testimony http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/1/26/124222.shtml

More and more facts are surfacing about the untrue claims John Kerry made as an anti-war activist after returning as a hero from Vietnam.

"Unfortunately, Mr. Kerry came home to Massachusetts, the one state George McGovern carried in 1972. He joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War and emceed the Winter Soldier Investigation (both financed by Jane Fonda)," Stephen Sherman, who was a first lieutenant with the U.S. Army Fifth Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Vietnam in 1967-68, writes in today's Wall Street Journal.

"Many veterans believe these protests led to more American deaths, and to the enslavement of the people on whose behalf the protests were ostensibly being undertaken. But being a take-charge kind of guy, Mr. Kerry became a leader in the VVAW and even testified before Congress on the findings of the Investigation, which he accepted at face value.

"In his book 'Stolen Valor,' B.G. Burkett points out that Mr. Kerry liberally used phony veterans to testify to atrocities they could not possibly have committed. ...

"Mr. Kerry hasn't given me any reason to trust his judgment. As co-chairman of the Senate investigating committee, he quashed a revealing inquiry into the POW/MIA issue, and he supports trade initiatives with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam while blocking any legislation requiring Hanoi to adhere to basic human rights. ...

"Just as Mr. Kerry threw away medals only to claim them back again, Sen. Kerry voted to take action against Iraq, but claims to take that vote back by voting against funding the result. So I can understand my former comrade-in-arms hugging the man who saved his life, but not the act of choosing him for president out of gratitude. And I would hate to see anyone giving Mr. Kerry a sympathy vote for president just because being a Vietnam veteran is 'back in style,'" Sherman concludes.

Gen. Giap: Kerry's Group Helped Hanoi Defeat U.S. http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/2/10/222651.shtml

The North Vietnamese general in charge of the military campaign that finally drove the U.S. out of South Vietnam in 1975 credited a group led by Democratic presidential front-runner John Kerry with helping him achieve victory.

In his 1985 memoir about the war, Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if it weren't for organizations like Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Hanoi would have surrendered to the U.S. - according to Fox News Channel war historian Oliver North.

That's why, he predicted on Tuesday, the Vietnam War issue "is going to blow up in Kerry's face."

"People are going to remember Gen. Giap saying if it weren't for these guys [Kerry's group], we would have lost," North told radio host Sean Hannity.

"The Vietnam Veterans Against the War encouraged people to desert, encouraged people to mutiny - some used what they wrote to justify fragging officers," noted the former Marine lieutenant colonel, who earned two purple hearts in Vietnam.

"John Kerry has blood of American soldiers on his hands," North said.

He had three minor flesh wounds. He never spent a day in a hospital. Yet, he used those three minor wounds to get out of Viet Nam EARLY. "Honorable service?" I don't think so...

In his book 'Stolen Valor,' B.G. Burkett points out that Mr. Kerry liberally used phony veterans to testify to atrocities they could not possibly have committed. ...

I pulled my copy of B.G.'s book out (personally autographed in 1999 when I spent most of the day with him) and B.G. says that "Kerry, a Kennedy protege with white-hot political aspirations, ascended center stage as both a war hero and as an anti-war hero throwing away his combat decorations. His speech, apparently off the cuff, was eloquent, impassioned. This is referring to Kerry's speech before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

B.G. goes on to tell the story about Kerry's medals being on his Capitol Hill office wall. B.G. goes on to say "And Kerry's emotional, from-the-heart speech had been carefully crafted by a speechwriter for Robert Kennedy named Adam Walinsky, who also tutored him on how to present it."

Kerry looks more and more like a very dangerous oddball. Unfit to be a U.S. Senator much less president of the United States of America.

"John Kerry has blood of American soldiers on his hands,"

Not only that, but also the blood of Vietnamese civilian non-combatants, according to a Zumwalt conversation with W. Scott Thompson. His claims that everyone was committing atrocities in Vietnam was apparently to help justify his own actions.

Yes, Kerry did a few months in Nam before bugging out based on several superficial wounds. This is what Kerry has had to say about his "fellow" American soldiers:

"... they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country..."

Somebody needs to call Francis Ford Coppolla and ask if John Kerry was a consultant
for that scene in "Apocalypse, Now" where the innocent Viets get blasted by
the riverboat crew.
(I hope I'm remembering that scene correctly...)

AND I'm NOT hanging a guilt-trip on anybody who's accidentally hit the
wrong target in white-hot heat called "the fog of war"...
