Retired Guard Officer Says He Saw Some Files Discarded in Trash

Retired National Guard Lt. Col. Bill Burkett said Tuesday that in 1997, then Governor Bush's chief of staff Joe Allbaugh told the National Guard chief to get the Bush file and make certain that 'there is not anything in there that will embarass the governor.'

Col. Burkett said that a few days later at Camp Mabry in Austin, he saw Mr. Bush's file and documents from it discarded in a trash can.

He said he recognized the documents as retirement point summaries and pay forms.

Bush aides denied any destruction of records in Mr. Bush's personnel file.

'These charges are flat out flat out not true,' said Dan Bartlett, White House Communications Director.

Personally, I think it is grossly wrong to pull this guy's account from FR. I think he did us a service.

Does this mean that any freeper who posts an article from a newspaper that is not complimentary to the president, will have their account pulled?

For us to know what it is being said about the president in the media is vitally important to what actions we can take.

In this instance, someone might be compelled to write a letter to the editor of the Dallas Morning News, concerning this article.

Take it from someone who trolls the DU... it is easy, for eg...

Post some anti-Kerry article... Get you zapped on DU? Nope, just post it and say you like Howard Dean.

There is a retired Arkansas Sheriff's Deputy working Security here in San Diego. He tells of the various times one William J. Clinton was taken in for sundry violations. Yet, when that William J. Clinton started a campaign for Arkansas Governor, WELLA! No records of those arrests can be found
CONFIRMS the old saying: You accuse others of what you know of yourself.

Jim does, however. And he can see other aspects of a user's footprint from their http request headers.

SILLY, Viking Kitty! As you can see from the pics she is a well qualified Viking Kitty. She eats jerky and "tries" to drink my beer, she's ornery, headstrong, and generally a pain in the butt!!! (Particularly when she's in heat and I won't let her outside!!!!) LOL

Silly - The Viking Kitty

In this photo we see Silly at the door when I say "Disruptor"
Silly immediately takes up her position on the desk and contemplates the "ZOT" button
Here, Silly decides that the "ZOT" is in order, and she reaches for the "ZOT" button
Here, Silly advises me of a successful "ZOT" operation.

I'm not sure that the person in question LT. COL. BILL BURKETT is an unbiased source. Do a google on his name and these pages show up:

I thought you guys were the all-seeing and all-knowing lords of the realm around here. If you keep letting little secrets out about your limitations you won't be as feared anymore.

This person did us a favor, because it apparently hasn't been posted elsewhere.

I'm with you there basil. This was a straight news story from a major daily. If the poster was some DU geek so what? We are better informed knowing this story is out there.

The author, Austin political correspondent/liar for the Dallas Morning News, claimed in 2000, right after the Bush/DWI story broke but before the election, that Bush had lied to him in a interview and denied ever having had a run-in with the law.

Similar type of slanderous smear, no way to corraborate, no proof, just one man's word, which of course the press ran with and portrayed as unquestionable fact.

This story is a lie, just like his previous attempt at an October surprise. Just how close is Wayne Slater to the DNC?

"The fact remains that there is still no evidence that George W. Bush showed up for duty as ordered while in Alabama," he said. "We also still do not know why the president's superiors filed a report saying they were unable to evaluate his performance for that year because he had not been present to be evaluated."

And now for the rest of the story...

Here's the entire statement that McAwful took out of context: "Lt. Bush has not been observed at this unit during the period of this report. A civilian occupation made it necessary for him to move to Montgomery, Alabama. He cleared this base on 15 May 1972 and has been performing equivalent training in a non flying status with the 187 Tac Recon Gp, Dannelly AFG Base, Alabama."

The Dallas paper doesn't say that he worked there, just that he was there, aparently on a trip.

If he was here and saw personal financial, attendance or other files on ANY guardsman/guardswoman, he should have had someone's head. This alleged incident of throwing any files in a trash can is prohibited. Any document with the SSN of a soldier must be shredded.
