Vicente Fox raises eyebrows with his suggestion that over a decade or two NAFTA should evolve into something like the European Union, with open borders for not only goods and investment but also people.

Great strides have been taken in that direction already!

What do you expect from folks who put obscene profits ahead of the good of the Republic?

There is a world of difference between an internationalist and a globalist - but the author of this article doesn't get it.

A real eye-opener. Confirms a few things I had observed, unfortunately. Another icon shot down.

Thanks.

Sir Peregrine Worsthorne

Well, I don't think he exists! Bertie and Wooster told me a fabulous story about Sir Peregrine, but I think they were pulling my leg. We were quite "under the weather" at the time!

Anyway, the story was all about how the Nation State had been mislaid by the chambermaid. Sir Peregrine got all huffy and said it simply had to be found, as he had a 3 o'clock appointment to have it cleaned. Anyway, Jeeves said he'd never even seen the nation state and wasn't quite sure if it even existed! Well, Bertie thought that was most amusing and he decided that even if the nation state had existed, now that it was mislaid, he wasn't going to miss it a bit. Then we all had some more sherry.

I don't know where the strings are pulled from and we all know that believing in 'One Worlder Conspiricies' is insane and will bring down whole floods of derision from Rush Limbaugh ... but there is a reason we closed down the CIA and rendered it impotent over the last 20 years.

I recommend Rober Baer's books.

Today ... Islamists are coming in through our southern border.

I think that the article makes many sound points; but is flawed in that it focuses too much attention on one writer, Bartley, rather than the broader ideological movement of which he may indeed have been a prominent cog. There is danger on focusing too heavily on individuals. I am not at all against fixing blame--to the extent that we can;--but it is more important to nail down the consequences of the notions that individuals promote; to fully understand the real issues; and to put the debate in a broader context.

My Chapter on Myths & Myth Makers In American "Higher" Education, deals in a large part with several of those who contributed to the same mindset as Mr. Bartley from somewhat different perspectives. It is important to understand that the Bartleys of the world have more success than they would on the narrower frame of reference that they represent, because of the academic climate created by those who see an undifferentiated humanity as an ideal--not just a way to maximize profits (in which situation, it is a profoundly foolish approach, for a variety of reasons).

I have been fighting those who advocate and advocated World Government since I was a school boy, and I assure you that they come in many different varieties, with sometimes very different motivations. Once you understand the complexity behind their support, you can begin to effectively counter it.
