Actress and activist Jane Fonda attends an anti-Vietnam War rally at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The rally was sponsored by Vietnam veterans. John Kerry can be seen directly in the background. 1970 Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, USALeif Skoogfors (CORBIS)
WASH TIMES 2/11 Rep. Sam Johnson, Texas Republican, who spent nearly seven years in a prisoner-of-war camp in Vietnam, said yesterday the photograph of Mr. Kerry with Miss Fonda will hurt him nevertheless. "I think it symbolizes how two-faced he is, talking about his war reputation, which is questionable on the one hand, and then coming out against our veterans who were fighting over there on the other," Mr. Johnson said. Mr. Johnson recalled that his North Vietnamese captors played recordings of Miss Fonda telling U.S. troops to give up the war. "Seeing this picture of Kerry with her at antiwar demonstrations in the United States just makes me want to throw up."
Priceless story........FReepers would love to see that tape.
Need to see what more I can add to John F. Kerry Timeline.

"Questions about a Kerry aide quite troubling"
Posted September 7, 2004
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A longtime aide to Sen. John Kerry has had decades worth of sympathy for North Vietnam and even lived there for five years.
This shocking story paints a portrait not so much about the aide but about Kerry and what he said long ago compared to what he says today and more importantly, where he stands on this continuing issue -- one he has drawn front and center. Specifically, Vietnam."

MICHAELMBATES.com: "OF PEACE AND JUSTICE AND DEMOCRATIC TALKING POINTS" =Coumn by Michael M. Bates (September 16, 2004)
COLUMN SNIPPET: "Like many parishes, mine has a Peace and Justice Committee. This weeks church bulletin included the following questions from the group:
Did you know: That one out of four adults work full-time but earns poverty-level wages?
Did you know: That 45 million Americans are without health insurance?
Did you know: That 50 percent of families who go into bankruptcy do so because of health care costs?
I was struck by how these questions looked like Democratic talking points. With good reason.
They are Democratic talking points. A quick search found them all mentioned on the Kerry-Edwards web site.
The three questions were also part of a "Worker Justice Quiz" distributed by the National Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice (NICWJ). Headquartered in Chicago, that organization is described by the right-leaning Capital Research Centers Labor Watch as "a coalition of left-leaning religious activists."
Thats probably accurate. The Communist Party USAs web site has a link to the NICWJ, declaring its a resource "to support the struggle for progress."
The groups web site, www.nicwj.org, indicates that last year it received 56% of its income from foundations and 19% from unions. One organization providing support is the Tides Foundation, which gave the NICWJ $20,000 in 2001. The Tides Foundation has in the past received funding from the Howard Heinz Endowment, chaired by Teresa "Shove it" Heinz Kerry.
But lets get back to the points raised by my parishs Peace and Justice Committee."
Joe Bangert, a Massachusetts English teacher and longtime friend of the junior senator, has campaigned with Kerry in several states and serves the campaign as a veterans' organizer.
Jim McDevitt
Doug Clifford
John Hurley
There's also some info here:
The Kerry Tribes: The seven factions fighting for control of his campaign and his presidency.
Band of Brothers These Vietnam veterans occupy a special place in Kerry's heart. Not all are political: Kerry's Vietnam boatmates don't seem to give him political advice, for instance. But others do have real campaign influence. These include former state politico Tom Vallely and former antiwar activist Chris Gregory, both dear friends of Kerry's who fought in Vietnam. (In Kerry's past Senate campaigns, Gregory was in charge of rounding up "The Dog Hunters"a group of veterans who heckled Kerry's opponents.) Kerry also has a full-time veterans' organizer in John Hurley. And of course there is defeated Georgia senator and Democratic martyr Max Cleland, who has turned into the Kerry campaign's shrillest anti-Bush voice. Scarred like Kerry by Vietnam, this group seems to share his suspicion of aggressive U.S. foreign policy.
Note: While these two threads are not specifically about Kerry; they are interesting.

"Kerry Questioned About His 'Chinese Assault Rifle'"
By Susan Jones
CNSNews.com Morning Editor
September 17, 2004
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CNSNews.com) - Does Sen. John F. Kerry really own a "Communist Chinese assault rifle," as he suggested in an interview in the latest edition of Outdoor Life magazine?
The Second Amendment Foundation says if the senator does own such a rifle, it wants to know where Kerry keeps it, if it is legally registered, and how he got it into the United States."
An interesting discussion on FREEREPUBLIC.com:

Those Godawful Kerry's. Even the Kennedy sisters stayed out of politics. Kerry's sister is one more reason why the guy should not be elected.
