"What happens if this is a historical mission that does succeed
that transforms the Middle East
that brings peace and security to America. What if NBCs role was like that of much of the media in general
allowing the terrorists to fight their war on the American television screen, where their stories of death and destruction dominate rather than that of American heroes?" Then it'll be over the dead bodies of all the American Establishment news organizations!

I'll second that. Wallace needs to go. Maybe he can take Greta, Geraldo and Rita with him.

I am fortunate to have access to a highly ranked individual who is giving his time to the reconstruction in Iraq. I know when he went there it was with an open mind. All I will say is how strongly he is behind everything we are doing there. Instead of talking about Janet Jackson these networks should be shut down due to their bias. They are on a collision course to treason. I can not see a future in America if the likes of the media manipulation & the communists/democratic party is allowed to exist.

Ya know, during this whole war, alot of people have been called "hero". I must admit that I felt many times that the use of the term was overdone. In contrast, Bob Arnot is a real hero.

The best interviews he did were with the children of Iraq. He was just fantastic with them. You could just see the joy and love he had for those kids.
With his background and education there is not a better man for Middle East coverage. We are going to be there, somewhere, for a long time.
As a lady might say, "He a good catch", a real keeper. NBC are fools.

For a well educated man, it took Arnot a very long time to come to the conclusion that the system in which he worked was indeed biased. Far too long.

"We (at NBC) all hope and pray that Saddam escaped harm, and hopefully fled to Syria." Ya know, I hate Katie as much as the next guy, but I dont buy this quote. Do you have any sources for it?

> Yeah. Replace Chris Wallace and Geraldo w/Dr. Bob.
Geraldo is reportedly about to undertake an Iraq
road-trip that could easily get him killed.
Sounds like his replacement is standing by.

dr. bob is very impressive, he's managed to be in every hellhole in the world, weather it's the toilets of africa ar the shooting galleries of somalia and afghanistan, he reports impartially about the health crises, and violence he observes.
the man is fearless and honest...gee i guess that's why he's no good.

I'll never forgot one of Dr. Bob's broadcasts from the front lines on one of the first few days of the march to Baghdad. It was riveting. There was a firefight nearby and Dr. Bob was describing the action in clear, precise detail -- I was thinking "wow, embedded reporting rocks!"

Man, I thought it was just me!!
It's unwatchable anymore. No depth to the reporting, and definitely drifting left.
I have YET to see any stories on Iran AT ALL. Half of Iran's parliament resigned this last week.

Good grief!!! Did Rush hear it? What about Sean? Where was the uproar?? (I wonder if this happened when I was visiting a relative and was out of the loop. They aren't addicted to current events and political programming like I am, so I am pretty much clueless as to what's going on in the world when I'm there.)

I think I found an original source for that (mis)quote, its on the
Newsmax website:
The full exchange went like this:
COURIC: Mik, we only have a few seconds left. But quickly,
anymore information about Saddam Hussein's fate?
MIKLASZEWSKI: Not at all. Wild speculation. But U.S.
officials insist they still don't know what happened when -
after they bombed that site in western Baghdad earlier this
week.
COURIC: So, they haven't been able to confirm reports he
was taken to Tikrit, and then Mosul, and then hopefully to
Syria.
MIKLASZEWSKI: That - that's very unlikely considering the
kind of U.S. forces that are arrayed up there.
COURIC: OK, Mik. Thanks.
Hmmm, maybe a Freudian slip?

I know a woman who worked on Dr. Bob's CBS health reporting team. She said he was a pleasure to work with (though a bit anal retentive in dealing with production and story details) and totally dedicated to doing an excellent job.
I guess she was on the money.
