[history]
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

This is gold and I've bookmarked it. Thank you, dear friend, for pinging me.
We cannot permit this traitorous danger to ascend to the role of CIC.

A free press is obligated to dig and probe for the truth. You've contradicted yourself. It's not truth that the media is after. They've been given that and rejected it.

My papers ended up at that same Colorado 'disciplinary' unit - that's where papers went when you became inactive. Why are the lefties using that term? Are they talking about the Air Reserve Personnel Center? Who would call that a "disciplinary unit"?

Yes, that was the front page story in the Washington Times today... along with the photo of John Kerry with Jane Fonda that was all over this forum yesterday.
I did have to reflect on the refreshing change of having as our President a man whose former girlfriend comes forward in the media... and proves he is a man of honor! Just think how different the headline "Former girlfriend comes forward...." becomes, depending on who is occupying the Oval Office.

This is all fine and good, I suppose.
But I don't think Kerry's "Republican" buddy or Bush's buddy makes any big difference anyway.
Are we doomed to hear about Vietnam until this entire age group just dies off?
It's just not very relevant to the campaign of 2004.

the dissing of the National Guard is particularly offensive to me It is particularly offensive to me, also. Thank you Mike, for your service to your country. So MANY of us are grateful, and proud of what you are doing over there.
I am disgusted with and ashamed of Americans who hate this great country, and are trying to destroy it.

The idea that the same man has written letters to the editor at different times in no way undermines his credibility.
Nice try though.

The slander against the National Guard is unpardonable and offensive. Will Kerry next publicly slander the Marines, Navy, Army, et al? Will his true feelings toward the military be forthcoming? This is why Kerry does not want his consistent anti-military expenditure votes to be discussed and Rep Ford was getting that message out.
Thank you for your service to our country. May God Bless the fallen and all of you serving to keep us safe.
To: Petronski
Send this to those simpering Kerry rumpswabs, Chris Matthews and Don Imus. Then let's see if the Globe has the stones to publish this.
