Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.

They can be boy bears

There are bear families

Some are just downright *different*.





No matter what they look like,
however they feel
Love from a teddy bear
is love that is real.

He didn't gripe about my choice of music, either!
I spotted him for a C&W fan when he got in the truck.

He did pout for four hundred miles, though, about the coffee on his paw.

By the way, my kids replied to other children who taunted them with "Hey! I bet your mother wore combat boots!" the following:

"Yeah, she sure did, and she was a Marine. Wanna make something out of it?"

An atheist college professor told his class one day that he was going to prove good didn't exist.

He hopped on top of a podium and shouted "If there is a God then come over here and knock me off this platform.

He continued taunting and tempting God with howls of derision for a few minutes. Finally he said "see I'm going to count to ten and this is your last chance God. He began his countdown. As he got to 8 a Marine recently discharged walked up and punched the professor right in the face knocking him over backwards.

The prof rose and asked what the hell did you do that for?

The Marine replied. "God was busy so he sent me." :-)

I, of course, love that joke..:))

In my time, women were separate from the men, and only in support roles, freeing them to go to combat in Korea.
We had no martial arts training.

My husband went from the Marines to the Air Force, and was channeled into Security Police. From SAC in South Dakota we went to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he was on three-day rotating shifts.

One day I woke him to get ready for second shift, and he did not respond. In fun, from the doorway I barked at him to GET UP!! and he reacted in fun, too, leaping out of the bed, coming around the foot and lunging at me, pretending to be a macho male.

Instinctively, I thrust my extended arm fully toward the charging bull to repel it, and he hit that with full force.

As he describes it, "All of a sudden I saw black and then stars, and fell back so hard I twisted the bed frame on the far side of the bed!!

No joke - that was what did happen!
Halfway down the rail, the metal was indeed twisted when he fell on it, and we've kept it all these years to make us laugh, remembering.

If you looked at my Profile Page, you'll see I was 5' 4 1/2" tall, and weighed then about 123 lbs - now 115. No Amazon !!

The boys were then 9 and 10, and duly impressed with Mommo...:))
