It's Not the Budget, Stupid (Civilization in the Balance)

I am among the many Conservatives who dont like the big spending of our current president. I will vote for him and urge others to and heres why: the budget is not the most important issue in this election.
The budget can be cut easily and taxes can be reformed within a very short time. Numerous governors have proved how little it takes to accomplish real government reform. However, as the Psalmist wrote, If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
What is at stake in the November election is not the Budget Deficit, which regardless of who wins this November will continue to be obscenely high, but rather our very culture. The Barbarians are at the gates in the form of radical Islamic terrorists and inside the gates in form of tyrannical judicial activists. John Kerry is on the side of the barbarians, George Bush is on the side of America. Ill vote for George Bush.
The Massachusetts Supreme Courts decision to force Gay Marriage on Massachusetts and soon on the rest of the country cuts at the fundamental definition of marriage and family in our society. Were crossing the Rubicon. If they succeed, we will no longer be slouching towards Gomorrah as Robert Bork wrote a few years back, we will be Gomorrah.
An immoral and corrupt people cannot preserve liberty. The question is not whether we will have $250 budget deficit in a few years or a $400 billion deficit, but whether we will lose the blessing of liberty forever. These are the stakes.
We have two hopes to preserve this culture so we can reclaim our liberty. First, we can pass the Federal Marriage Amendment. There are probably not enough votes in the Senate to do so right now, but it must come up for a vote. The American people, particularly those in the South will see where Democrats stand and it will be enough to gain the additional seats we need to pass this bill.
Second, we need judges like Miguel Estrada and Patricia Owens on the Supreme Court, who will interpret and not rewrite the Constitution. President Bush has shown himself to be a man who will appoint judges who will uphold the Constitution and we need that now more than ever.
President Bush is a flawed figure in American politics. Too often, he caves to Congress and the Democrats. But on the issue of preserving our culture from the forces that seek to destroy it, we have an ally.
I wish he were bolder. I wish he were more articulate and determined in advocating the moral issues. I would have preferred that Alan Keyes won the Presidency, but he didnt. We cant rerun the 2000 primary elections. We have the President that the vast majority of the Republican Party and Conservatives chose and we have to work with him. Its not noble or patriotic, nor anything but unproductive to stay home or vote for some third party when the election of a Democratic candidate could very well mean the end of our liberty. I urge everyone who loves this country and its constitution to vote for President Bush, so that we can by the Grace of God, preserve our culture while we work for the election of a more Conservative President in 2008.

The budget can be cut easily...What color is the sky in your world?
The 50% of the American people who pay no income taxes have discovered they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury, and the future is history.

IMHO, if you can't see the wisdom in that statement you do not have the best interest of the country, indeed, the world in mind.

"50% of the American people who pay no income taxes have discovered they can vote themselves largess.."Everyday we hear these same 50% complaining that our half is the one with too much power (tax-cuts for the rich, candidates bought out by the moneyed interests, etc.). By looking at the fact that neither of the two halves are anywhere near leaving the US (despite threats to the contrary every election year) I figure that virtually all Americans have more power than they have time or energy to wield.

The only people that can destroy America are Americans...specifically our oun government. Our government is the only force that can destory america.
A dependent populace parented by an ever expanding nanny state will not achieve great things. Bush has created more dependency, more powerful and intrusive government. This is more dangerous to America that any terrorist network.
A terrorist may kill many Americans. But America will survive. But America can be destoried from the inside.
Bush has proven that appeasement does not work. He has repeatedly appeased the democrats with his own furthering of that which is destroying America.
I'm not voting pragmatically ..the lesser of two evils again.
If Bush wants my vote he'll have to switch course and combat the socialism that is destroying this once great country.
Fear of Kerry is not enough. That's what the dems do to the blacks. Use fear of rep to get them to vote.
Bush treats us like dems treat blacks. They expect us to hold our nose and vote for him no matter what he does.
Not me...I'm off the plantation.

When the Democrat's finally see this fact their candidate's name will be Mohammad Ali Laden.

When then I guess why bother fighting the war on terror?
Terrorism isnt a threat. Rush and Hannity are horribly wrong about one thing. it isnt just the left that is spitting in the graves of 3000 dead. The know-nothing right is just as guilty.

I intend to criticize Bush's errors (Medicare socialism), and support him to the hilt. We are fighting for civilization, and must win at virtually any cost.

"You think Kerry knows he's on the side of the barbarians? Or do the barbarians just have him fooled?"
He knows. He just doesn't care. It's all about what he wants.

Why does Alan Keyes think the President is at risk of losing this election?
To: .30Carbine
This article isn't by Alan Keyes. I think that everyone knows that the President is potentially at risk of losing the election.

Very true.
Someone on a related thread said that one thing everybody is forgetting with their bickering and snapping is that these are NOT ordinary times.
We're in the crunch here, and if we don't win this one, frankly, I think civilization is in big trouble.

Good. The current budget isn't so important in the overall picture. Straightening out the mess is important. Once the mess is cleaned up we can take another look at what ought to be done rationally next. The national arts and the space program are significant to our culture; let's be sure we have a culture and then worry about directions when all this calms down.

I know the article wasn't written by Alan Keyes. You are a strong Keyes supporter, as evidenced by your moniker and your homepage; I expect you follow his appearances in the news and his announcements, and hoped you might even have a little insider information, or some insight.
There was a thread about Mr. Keyes' appearance on Fox News a few days back; I didn't have the time to go find it and ping you on that one. Since I found you here, I thought I would ask here.
I think that everyone knows that the President is potentially at risk of losing the election.
Not everyone. When President Bush was asked by Tim Russert on Meet the Press on Sunday about losing the election, the President responded very confidently (and with a smile), "Oh, I'm not going to lose the election." So that's one that doesn't concede that potential.
My question was, why does Alan Keyes think the President is at risk of losing the election?
I was hoping you could tell me.
