American Life League's Crusade for the Defense of our Catholic Church will lead a pro-life demonstration at Sen. John F. Kerry's (D-Mass.) Northern Virginia rally today, Tuesday, Feb. 10. This protest is part of the Crusade's ongoing Deadly Dozen campaign that has challenged openly pro-abortion Catholic politicians to recant their support of abortion or stop receiving Holy Communion until they do. Crusade director Joseph M. Starrs said the following regarding Kerry and the planned pro-life counter rally:
"Sen. Kerry's comments continue to show that he is aware that it is wrong for Catholics to support abortion, but yet he continues to support abortion-on-demand in spite of this knowledge. His attempts to justify his stance by hiding behind the impotent mantra that one can be 'personally pro-life, but publicly for choice,' is an insult to the intelligence of the average Catholic and does not change the simple fact that you cannot be a Catholic in good standing and pro-abortion.
"We are holding this demonstration to reiterate the truth about the Catholic faith that Kerry claims and that if he wants to be in good standing with the Church he must recant his public support for abortion."

Instituted on June 20, 1960, the Friendship Decoration was awarded to foreigners, who supported and helped the Vietnamese in the defense of their country. This medal may possibly be a very early version of the Decoration. It is a 30mm round disk. The obverse depicts two hands shaking with the North Vietnamese flag in the background. The inscription reads, DOAN KET CHIEN THANG GIAC MY (Solidarity against American Aggression).
