Pay records demonstrate that Pres. Bush served.

I cannot believe the totally PARTISAN attack that I am witnessing in this news conference! If there was ANY doubt that the Washington Press Corp is decidedly liberal, this press conference removes all doubts. I've never seen anything quite like this!

I was just watching the thing myself, had to leave the breakroom so I wouldn't shout at the TV. The reporters are fighting this like the cornered, rabid beasts that they are.

These reporters are having a difficult time accepting this.

McClellan ought to ask some of these reporters if they will make public their own pay records from the Kerry campaign.

The only important thing in that "grilling" was to notice how the media is willing to carry water for the Democrats.
Scott is handling them fine, giving them nothing they can use. They have coordinated their questions, and he has to address each one, or be called "defensive". But they are getting nothing from him. They look like a bunch of idiots.

It' the old Clinton, etc. thing. Attack, attack and attack; and don't let the other side get a word in.

The press are a pack of hungry wolves today. Extra hungry.
This is relentless persecution.
If Bubba had been pressed this hard on several of his issues, we'd be in a much better place as a country today.
McClellan needs to get control of the interview and go to another topic.

Some of us were commenting on another thread. I'm glad you have one devoted to this briefing in particular.
John Roberts was first out of the gate YELLING at McClellan.
They've raised the bar and want real people who served with the president. The records are no longer enough.
They have harped on dates matching when he was there serving, so next they will swarm out looking to catch a "lie".
They are being completely disgraceful.
Gregory cites Turnipseed again about the "Not observed" and how does that square with payroll records.
To: xzins
It doesn't mean that he wasn't there! They don't know that because NONE of them ever laced on a pair.

I've got bad news. It's going to be like this every single day until November 2nd. The press hates Bush and will do every last thing in their power to see that he is not re-elected.

I just sent an email to Tom Brokaw of NBC Nightly News and voiced my feelings about this horrible White House Briefing. I am totally appalled. David Gregory was especially sickening. I am just sick to my stomach right now. I hope all of you will email
nightly@nbc.com and do the same.
To: xzins
You are correct, sir! WHEN WILL THE WHITE HOUSE GET A CLUE AND FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS INTELLIGENTLY??? "Not observed" is a standard eval catagory for a reservist who does resched drills and thus is not at enough regularly scheduled drills for purposes of a FITREP.
THE WHITE HOUSE IS GOING TO BLOW THIS ELECTION BY BEING TOO PASSIVE. "HELLO? HELLO? ANYONE HOME, MCFLY?"

It's much better that this is blowing up in the press now rather than 6 months down the road. It is enough of a non-issue that the vervor of the press will die because the public is not interested. They're looking for a blue dress so they can say Bush lied. I suspect Bush did some evasion but he didn't lie. There's more of a document from the Colorado ARF that implies Bush was relieved from certain duty as a disciplinary action (possibly for failing to show for a physical). The press is not going there yet.

This will only create more sympathy for Bush among those who are kind of on the fence about him. Keep up the good work, reporters.
