U.S. soccer team to play for Olympic spot in Guadalajara
Things could get ugly in Guadalajara tomorrow when the U.S. soccer team plays Mexico for Olympic qualification.
Last Thursday, when the U.S. played Canada in a qualifying round in Zapopan before 1,500 Mexicans, the crowd hooted "The Star-Spangled Banner," it booed U.S. goals. And it chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama" as the American players left the field with a 2-0 victory.
Tomorrow, 60,000 fans are expected to watch the game that will determine which team goes to Athens.
The Mexicans are hoping for revenge. The U.S. team knocked Mexico out of the World Cup in 2002.
The Guadalajara police are already mobilizing to control highly charged soccer fans and to protect U.S. team players in case things get out of hand.
If carpooling were an Olympic sport, the Mexicanos would take the gold every time.
Reality already got in front of that idea. No alligators, but the illegals coming through along the San Pedro River now have at least one large mountain lion to worry about. His or her tracks were first spotted last week and are bigger than my outstretched hand.
A few months back I found a bed down site in Hunter Canyon that had been hastily abandoned; all bags and backpacks had simply been dropped. Big kitty cat foot prints all over the place.
Those coming through the Huachuca Mountains have attracted the attentions of a few black bears who have taken to scavenging their food trash and discarded backpacks. It won't take long for them to lose all fear and start scavenging people.
They might not in your neighborhood, but PLENTY of Americans fit your descriptions. You seem to be under some illusion that Americans don't commit crimes and aren't capable of thoroughly sucking as human beings.
I make a phone call to a service agency, it says "Press 1 for English" and if I don't press 1, it continues in Spanish as the default. I've been in line behind people speaking Spanish, with five kids in tow speaking only spanish, using food stamps in excess of my entire monthly grocery bill.
Do you support a ban on the use of foreign languages in America? It sounds like it.
I have personally witnessed my property being stolen, and the side of my house being vandalized, by people coordinating these activites completely in Spanish. And worse.
I've had property stolen by people who speak Spanish as well as by people who speak English. I even heard of a guy who raped a little kid one time who spoke English, but this had to have been an extreme rarity.
The emporer has no clothes. I guess somebody's gotta say it.
Everything you have said has been said, verbatim, by people of the dominant culture throughout the history of time, including the history of America. I mean, who wanted those dirty, illiterate, AntiChrist-worshipping European Catholics here? Surely you would have supported banning all those cretans from coming to work in America as well, right?
I think a part of them was just as horrified at what happened, as everyone else. Unfortunately they had to put their own country first, as usual.
Mexicans: Osama! Osama!
Bush: Welcome to America!
And I do support Bush. I just wish he realised the war on terror needs to be waged at home as well: against those who break America's immigration laws, take American jobs and subvert American culture. America owes these people nothing, but it's as though no expense is too great to go on earning their ingratitude.
To bad our politicaians are willing to pull out all the stops to halt the invasion of our country.
And, until the recent pre-Olympic crackdown, a country with a relaxed attitude toward terrorists.
I bow to your superior knowledge.
Always did have a problem with those damn dates.
Agreed. But why move to another country to do it? Why not be a sucky human being in one's own country? Why should we expect the citizens of another country to accept us with open arms?
I mean, if I illegally entered Japan, refused to learn a word of Japanese, formed an American gang that vandalized the homes of Japanese citizens, and broke nearly every Japanese law I encountered - I would expect some animosity from the citizens of Japan.
Call me crazy, but there is something about going out of your way to cross national borders to be a sucky human being that makes it that much less palatable.
Do you support a ban on the use of foreign languages in America? It sounds like it.
No, but I am for making English the official language of the United States, and requiring basic English competency as a condition of citizenship or long-term residence.
I've had property stolen by people who speak Spanish as well as by people who speak English. I even heard of a guy who raped a little kid one time who spoke English, but this had to have been an extreme rarity.
Hey, we have our own criminals. That's the point. We don't need the rest of the world's.
Surely you would have supported banning all those cretans from coming to work in America as well, right?
We have immigration laws. Obey them, or be deported. And when you get here, make an effort to learn the language and behave yourself.
It's really just that simple.
It's also common sense.
Right. The first duty of any government is to the people living there. Do US citizens want current levels of migration? You can check any poll and see for yourself what the overwhelming majority think. A shame no elected politician is willing to do the same.
