Good analysis. Lists like this usually have a lot of wishful thinking but not this one.

All these reasons don't mean squat to people whose jobs have been outsourced overseas.
If it's a blowout election, then it doesn't matter, but if it's a repeat of 2000, these displaced workers will help to put Kerry over the top.

His stand on immigration is a non-starter for me, and a lot more "Republican core" than this author lets on.

The recession of 2000 started very early in Bush's presidency Indeed. It started about 9 months before he was elected. Can't get much earlier than that!!

#22. We now have a pic of John Kerry with Jane Fonda protesting the Viet Nam war. (credit to Hillary's Lovely Legs)

A lot of people thought that Clinton would be a one term President too. And Dole had a better reputation than Kerry.

Here's one reason why we shouldn't take for granted that Bush will win.
Don't assume everyone wants honor and integrity in the White House.
Who would've ever thought Clinton could be elected...TWICE?!!!

Reason #22: Usama bin Laden will be captured on November 8, 2004.

Make that November 1, 2004.

22. When was the last time American voters removed a sitting President during time of war?
John Kerry is not an historical figure. He nor any other demoncrat in the running does not have the stature, command presence, or aura of leadership to change the course of American History.

I agree with all of these except 'the base is solid.' I don't think Bush will have any problem winning, though.

some good points- the media hype for the Dems will be the undoing if at all- no one ever mentions the length of Kerry's service vs George Bush (4 months vs few years) inspite of Kerrys medals he pretended he threw over White House fence- it needs to be examined. The media even liked to show Pres Bush Sr climbing out of the ocean as though he "needed to be rescued" vs showing him flying or on his plane- no photos of G bush on his jet either.
As for Fla being more Republican now- Fl in 2000 had Rep Senate and Congress majority with 1 GOP USA Senator and GOP Governor- now has 2 Dem Senators - Jeb Bush was reelected in 2002- yet the Dems always acted as if Fla was theirs for the taking- phonies knew it was theirs if they fixed the Palm Beach and Dade county votes - ooh how my Blood pressure is starting to boil

Just four days before the election, muckrakers uncovered a dirty little secret on their GOP rival. Twenty-four years earlier, George W. Bush was arrested for drunk driving. To make matters worse, he answered no when a reporter asked if he'd ever been arrested. What a crock. He pleaded no contest, paid a penalty, and legally later, had the charge expunged from his record. When a charge is expunged, it does not exist. When asked if convicted of such of an offense, he answered truthfully: "no" -- because the charge did not exist.

Some additional notes about the convention schedule.
The week of July 26 (when the Dems have their convention) is in the middle of summer when many folks are taking vacations and in full "summer mode." Nobody is going to want to watch a bunch of boring politicians pontificating on a hot, lazy summer night. The "convention bounce" will mostly fall on deaf ears. It is the time of year when even news hounds pay less attention to the news.
When the Republicans have their convention in September, most people are getting back to the normal routines of work and school. They will be likely to pay much more attention to the news of the day by then.
Also, the week after Labor Day weekend is when the campaign season gets into full swing and people start paying attention to the daily tracking polls. The Republicans will have their "convention bounce" occuring at the absolute best possible time - just when people start paying serious attention to the campaign.
Lastly, the anniversary of September 11th occurs right around that time. This will amplify feelings about our vulnerabilities to terrorism and also the good job our current president has done so far to prevent further incidents on that scale.

That would be great. What spooks me though, is the rabid motivation of the left block. There is a significant group of people that hate Bush, and have no clear reason why. They WILL be at the poles. If the conservatives get fical, or decided to punish bush and stay home...then we get this...
Hanoi Jane, and Hanoi John.

Well thought out, promoted some great discussion. Even better would be a scenario that brings New York State and California into play. Watch Kerry shoot is wad in your state. No Democrat can win without winning New York State, or should I say New York City! You have allot of work to do!

12. The Base is solid
Despite his forays into fiscal liberalism - Medicare, immigration, education - the President maintains phenomenal support among Republicans. A poll in late January by the American Research Group found only 10% of GOPers disapprove of the job he is doing.
Then why are 21% of Freepers selecting a poll option other then Bush?
