All these reasons don't mean squat to people whose jobs have been outsourced overseas.

If it's a blowout election, then it doesn't matter, but if it's a repeat of 2000, these displaced workers will help to put Kerry over the top.

Two jobs my husband had were outsourced overseas and neither one of us would even CONSIDER voting for Kerry, or any other Dem!!!

While this is no doubt important, the actual number of people losing their jobs is minimal, in the context of how many voters will go to the polls in November. In 4 years, that figure will unfortunately be much higher.

Many more workers will have jobs by next November than even have them today. Unemployment is down to 5.6%. 5% is considered normal ebb and flow of a fully employed job force. So you are talking about 0.6% of 130 million workers. Less than 1 million workers, not all of them voters, statistically, and the majority of those who vote, probably part of the Dem base.

They will not win victory for Kerry.

If unemployment is fairly represented by the current rate (high 5% range), this still represents a small portion of the voting population. If all the unemployed were Republicans, then it might be a potential swing issue. If however, one assumes an even split or more likely a heavy predisposition to the Dems, then the damage to Bush is not as great. I haven't seen any recent rates for the underemployed or those recently re-employmed at lower wages. This group may be more volatile but again their voting predisposition prior to their employment change is critical to knowing whether its a big loss or at best a status quo issue.

Why do folks keep insisting that President Bush is making the decisions for private corporations to outsource?

Those who dont like this current trend in outsourcing should blame the corrupt unions in this country or talk to the authority of tehe companies in question.

The out sourcing of jobs overseas is not a Presidential one to make. I have lost 4 jobs to outsourcing, starting back in the 90's under the Democrats. It is not a presidential issue. It is an economics issue dictated in Corporate Board Rooms, and CEO's concerned about lower labor costs, and the allmighty "bottom-line". THIS should be the discusssion, not whether the President can get the jobs back. It started with Clinton, continued under Bush, and will continue under the next President. If the Congress would pass tax incentives for Corporate America to allow investment and modernization, then maybe jobs would stay in America, and not move overseas.

Not every person out of work is going to believe the first democrat that promises them a new job. I was unemployed once after becoming a Republican and I never even considered looked at the other party.

With all due respect to your opinion, most of those professionals (like myself) who will have their jobs outsourced are level-headed conservative voters who vote with their head, not their emotions like all the touchy-feely liberals. It is almost an insult to say that such people will vote like an idiot liberal.

I would far rather lose my job and have the discomfort of re-tooling than to put a liberal anti-American DemocRAT such as Kerry in the office of President (not to mention the fact that Kerry is about as genuine as a 3 dollar bill).

Bush or his policies are not the blame for outsourcing. And I haven't seen anyone able yet to prove it.

Please understand that I am not trying to be sarcastic or any similar adjective, but why would you think that displaced workers would conclude that Kerry would be in any position to stop the outsourcing of American jobs? He might promise this but they would have to be extremely stupid to think that he could anything about it.

Tell us how Kerry will bring back any jobs?

Exactly what actions by GWB led to these people losing their jobs?

If the answer is that Kerry has no answer and that it wasn't the fault of the POTUS that the jobs went overseas, what factors will influence these people voting against Bush besides job loses? Can you explain how these are former GOP votes that have been lost?

I'm tired of hearing from the liberal media that all the unemployed will be out in droves and be voting W out. Go out and re-train and get a job. Get into a field that is growing. Learn a trade. Get yourself more marketable. And take a pt job or 2 or 3 in the meantime. Jeesh
