The Media, and The Election
self | 2-8-2004 | International American

If this mornings interview between Tim Russert and our President is indicative of what we can expect for media coverage, we are in for a bloody fight similar to Peleliu in WW2! Russert was on the attack for the full hour, reiterating statements that have long since been rendered spurious, and showed little or no respect for the fact that he was interviewing the leader of the free world! Now, we all know Russert is a biased shameless liberal, but he didn't even attempt to be balanced, or objective. Why Presisent Bush agreed to this interview in the first place is lost on me. He, or his advisors should have done this with Brit Hume, or someone of his political proclivities.

Let's face it folks, The dominant media elite is still fuming over the Florida debacle. If I were an advisor to Dubya, I would make provisions for massive voter fraud in the coming election, and make provisions for the upcoming bloody attack by the leftist media. Lying is like mother's milk for the left, and is endemic to their beliefs and culture. President Bush should be cognisant of the fact that the left will do anything to assure his demise

where can i get the transcript of this morning's show? Though I saw the whole thing - and thought the President did very well - there's no denying that russert was stacked way left... and he's supposed to be one of the moderates out there.

I didn't mind the Bush interview. But contrast it with Russert's boot licking treatment of Hillary! If he is bold enough to pepper President Bush with vetted charges about his National Guard service why not be as dogged with the Hildebeast about bribes disguised as cattle futures trades, the secret health care task force, covering for Bill on bimbo eruptions (like she really didn't know) etc. But no. When Senator Shrillary appeared on Russert's show he treated her with royal deference. It was disgusting. This is what is meant by "media bias."

Russert Day's are numbered. Well Ketchupboy can say it. Peggy Nonan seems to think the Pres. blew it. By the article on the Drudge Report. I like some of her writing but she is not good on TV either.

I felt the President held his own. He was open and sincere, (wasted on the democrats). He gave more than answers, he gave explanations, (wasted on democrats). SO I guess I have to agree with you. He needs to stay away from these creeps.

The President held his own, but he could have been stronger on our need to free Iraq. We now have a foothold in the middle east, where most of the rabid terrorists had once called their own. Hussein was funding terrorism all over the world!

No she isn't, but Peggy is a supporter of GWB, so look to more positive columns in the future.

"With probable openings on the Supreme Court due to retirements, a Kerry win is frightening. More frightening is Kerry having the UN, or worse...France, determining the future of the USA!"

Kerry in his own way is as dangerous as a terrorist. His voting record is very similar to a Pelosi, oe a Hillary, if not worse!!

Rush made a good point on his show this morning. He said Russert conducted the interview as an interrogation of a criminal suspect eg. "Will you testify to this?..... to that?.... blah blah blah, ad nauseum, ad infinitum!

Maybe, but I think the right has just as many files on various lefties. I think the real explanation is that politicians and other powerful people tend to be disproportionately of the tax-and-spend control freak variety, which is another way of saying that power corrupts.
