The Toronto Sun, April 10, 1994, Sunday
U.S. agencies have tried to suppress the truth about abandoned Americans. Sen. John Kerry came to question my wife and I in Bangkok after we had published our own findings on missing men in our book Kiss the Boys Goodbye. Kerry is chair of the U.S. Senate select committee charged in 1992 with re-examining intelligence reports on MIAs-PoWs. He was more concerned with keeping appointments with his Bangkok tailor than with following up.
We had offered to put him in touch with direct sources, once we had their approval. We were puzzled that Kerry seemed only to be going through the motions. Later it became clear that he was co-operating fully with those intelligence officials anxious to conceal evidence of incompetence, or worse. The American Spectator quotes Kerry as telling one of the investigators giving evidence to the committee that if the original investigation report ever leaked out "you'll wish you'd never been born."

The Baltimore Sun, February 17, 1994
According to John Corry, the former New York Times reporter who has followed the MIA issue closely, investigators for Sen. John Kerry's Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs concluded that ''American prisoners of war have been held continuously after Operation Homecoming and remain ed in captivity in Vietnam and Laos as late as 1989.''
But this was not the language of the committee's final report, which was vague and inconclusive. Senator Kerry himself, according to Mr. Corry, told one of the investigators that if the assertion quoted above ever leaked, ''you'll wish you'd never been born.''

The Washington Times, February 4, 1994
Sen. John Kerry, chairman of a Senate committee that investigated POWs, covered up information contained in U.S. intelligence reports indicating American prisoners were left behind in Vietnam as late as 1989, according to a published report.
Mr. Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, reportedly told four Senate POW investigators that if information uncovered in 1992 about the existence of American POWs in Vietnam leaked out, "you'll wish you'd never been born," according to a report in the forthcoming issue of the American Spectator.

The American Spectator, February, 1994
The conclusion, however, was not welcomed by the DIA, or even by most members of the Senate committee. On the morning the investigators were scheduled to present their report to the senators, one senator's aide let the Pentagon know what the investigators intended to say. A team from the DIA immediately showed up to rebut their presentation. The investigators protested; their briefing was supposed to be closed to outsiders. In a remarkable display of bad judgment, however, the senators voted, 7 to 2, to allow the DIA to attend the briefing.
By all accounts, what followed was contentious. The investigators and the team from DIA shouted at each other. Several senators shouted, too. John Kerry, the committee chairman, told one of the investigators that if the report ever leaked out, "you'll wish you'd never been born." Senator Kerry wants to normalize relations with Vietnam. When the briefing was over, Frances Zwenig, the committee's staff director, ordered that all copies of the investigators' report be destroyed. She also said she wanted their computer files purged. Zwenig, who is now the executive assistant to United Nations Ambassador Madeleine Albright, also wants to normalize relations with Vietnam.
In its 1,123-page final report on the hearings, the committee reached an evasive conclusion: "We acknowledge that there is no proof that U.S. POWs survived, but neither is there proof that all of those who did not return had died. There is evidence, moreover, that indicates the possibility of survival, at least for a small number, after Operation Homecoming."

Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" along with quislings from the Baby Boomer generation conspired to sweep VietNam under the rug. The Greatest Generation got us involved in VietNam but didn't have the will or leadership capabilities to rally the U.S. citizenry.
I am proud of what our warriors did over there, but ashamed of our leaders for their cowardice. The cause was just and those who fought and died did not fight and die in vain.

I have extremely strong reasons to suspect that some very interesting revelations about Kerry's military service will be coming to light rather soon and about the circumstances of his "medals."

OK, time to print the original post off and once Kerry has the RAT coronation as their "Champion" to put it in every single paper we can. Let's stick it to him real good. That will turn his claimed support from vets into vapor.

There has been some discussion of this subject already. No question that kerry got more medals than he deserved for political reasons. But it will either take an unimpeachable group of Vietnam veterans to bring such charges, or the none-to-subtle hand of hillary clinton, whom the press will grovel to.
Don't be surprised if hillary helps out. I don't think she ever intended kerry to break out of the pack this way and threaten to take the nomination. She miscalculated how hard to bash Dean, and she overestimated the ability of her hand-picked keepers to keep Wesley Clark's foot out of his mouth.

One thing which bothers me is this. Even as you read this, some of our men are in a POW camps eating slop, under appalling living conditions (and probably being worked to death). They apparently are abandoned by the US Government and the Department of Defense.
