Can't reveal info from daily briefings: might lead to compromised info in the future.

Need full analysis done to better prepare homeland for future. This is about war. We need to be prepared for the future.

Will we capture OBL before the election (senator who says we will)? Pres. laughs ironically, says "I appreciate his optimism." Says we're doing well at dismantling al-Qaeda & we're looking hard for OBL.

MTP; Grassley says we'll catch Osama

GWB; He's a Killer, we're after him. Thousands of troops on the hunt for him. 2/3rds of Al Qaeda captured.

Russert: Do we have a pretty good idea where OBL is?

Bush: I won't comment on that.

I saw that interview with Matthews and Ron Reagan. He was vicious! What's up with that? Somehow I missed the historical context. Must have been before I was a Freeper.

Campbell Brown on MTP introduces a clip from MTP. President explaining Saddam was dangerous. Tim had framed the question "since there were no WMDs". President carefully choosing his words explaining the danger.

Campbell says TIME mag asking tough questions "Does Bush have a credibility gap" and off she goes to interview a TIME reporter. Matt Cooper. Bush is on the hot seat. (Yes they are both using "Bush", not President).

Perhaps you can give me a short list of the conservative accomplishments manifested by the George Bush White House
or the Republican Congress?

MTP. Did you bring country to war on false pretenses?

GWB; We used what we believe to be valid info, made in context of war on terror. Couldn't ignore anything.

Who is more conservative: the democrat Senator from Georgia or the Republican President?
No brainer- the Republican President. They agree on many (if not most issues), but the President worked to reduce the power of the liberal Democrat party, while Miller has worked to keep it in power (he campaigned for Cleland, for example, and he caucused with the Democrats back in 2000 making Daschle the majority leader).

I saw that interview with Matthews and Ron Reagan. He was vicious! What's up with that?

Because GWB is more like Reagan's son than Ron Jr.?

Russert: How to you respond to critics that you brought the nation to war on false pretenses.

Bush: Sitting behind this desk, I made the decision on the best intelligence we had available and on intel other countries thought was valid. Also, in viewof 9/11, every threat had to be viewed through that lens (words to that effect).

We look at the intel and remembered the fact that he used WMD and paid suicide bombers and funded terrorist groups and that was the intelligence I was using.

We/I expected to find stockpiles of weapons. David Kay has found the capacity to produce weapons. Saddam could have destroyed weapons, they could be hidden, they could be transported to another country. The Iraqi SUrvey Group is lookin at this too.

David Kay did report to the AMerican people that Saddam had the capacity to make weapons.

I made the decision to go to the UN because I don't think AMerica can stand by and hope for the best from a madman.

We can't wait for it to become imminent. It's too late when it's imminent.

GWB; ... I expected to find stockpiles. Kay asks its a question of where the weapons went. Destroyed, transported, ??? Kay says Saddam had capacity to make weapons. Saddam is a dangerous man in dangerous part of the world. US can't stand by and hope for best...can't let dangers become imininet.
