Vanity: [FR Poll] If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?
2/7/2003 | FR

I thought because there is a poll on FR that says "If it's Kerry vs Bush how will you vote?" it would be good to start a thread on the matter for people to explain how they voted in the poll, if they choose to do so.

Few Martoonies there nopardons? Your grammer, spelling, syntax and formatting have deteriorated to about the same level as your manners.

And she still kicked your butt. Imagine that.

I appreciate Senator Kerry's service to the country. No question about it, he was a soldier who served, and served w/distinction. And I agree that the glib, smooth-palmed civilian is very hard on all the senses. But not to worry, no person of serious intellect pays him or her any mind. And if you served, thank you too.

However, no one I know is a one dimensional character, and unfortunately I think kerry's one part hero and one part snake. He practically called his brothers in arms baby killers and slayers of women in his post war rantings and ravings, and the worst part is that he probably did it for political opportunity, and not because he really believed it. That's very hard on the senses as well. He owes his brothers in arms an apology 'ad alta voce'!

But your absolutely right about both Kerry's and McCain's honorable military service. I admire both men in that regard, and I'm sure President Bush himself feels the same way. Say what you will about President Bush, but he's not a small-minded man nor one with a confined spirit. I venture the same opinion about McCain, but kerry to me seems very small, very confined at this point in his life. Maybe it's a campaign style. I don't know and only time will tell.

If he's elected, I'm certainly going to view him as my President, and not declare an immediate state of war against him the way so many democrats did against President Bush. And I will pray to God that he lead and protect the Country to the best of his ability.

This isn't very fair...

That's life (that's life), that's what all the people say
You're ridin' high in April, shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune
When I'm back on top, back on top in June

I said that's life (that's life), and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down
'cause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' around

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race

That's life (that's life), I tell you I can't deny it
I thought of quitting, baby, but my heart just ain't gonna buy it
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself layin' flat on my face
I just pick myself up and get back in the race

That's life (that's life), that's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cuttin' out but my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothin' shakin' come this here July
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball a-and die

My, my!

Poor Ben (rather than " POOR RICHARD ",don'tcha know.), his words have been usurped, misused, and used to mean something they were NEVER meant to .

Please enlighten us to what they were supposed to mean then.

For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fuller consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise.

If you are able to divine the words of 'Poor Richard' from something other than the written word, could you tell us? I always assumed the men of that time meant what they said. Surely if the numerous generations since the Founding Fathers had known that they should have looked for double-entendres over the years, this nation of states may have been run much differently. Perhaps we were supposed to worship a king as Hamilton suggested.

If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins.

No, they would rather concentrate on swarthy, brown Mexican immigrants who keep popping up as lawn gnomes in their minds.

Around here they pop up in the flesh in our yards -- and help themselves to anything they want.

Pardon my disgruntlement, but this is not a fun time to live in the Naco Corridor. Illegal alien traffic through here has jumped by 114% over the same period last year. Link.

A couple of days after that cheerful news, it was announced that Dubya's proposed budget for FY 2005 cuts Border Patrol funding by $130 million. Link.

The problem with the CP and Libertarian Party is that they are much like the far left, so much so, that they both have gone to the extreme end of their perspective direction and now they have met at the other end of the spectrum and they have assimilated

It's amazing to me that they do not see how they are just like the Naderites. JUST LIKE them. And when they try to field a mainstream candidate, he will end up just like Howard Dean. Unfortunately, it looks like the Democrats are coming together, even the extremists. This is a bad time for the Republicans to fall apart and fight one another.

The Farm Bill, the Medicare Bill, CFR, the Education Bill, gutting the Welfare Reform Act, PBS, I haven't got all night.

Those are not the reasons I back off from Bush like I would a rattle snake. Some Presidents we have had are wishy washy on globalism, Bush is avid about it, and makes no secret of it. If he gets the FTAA treaty through, it will take a revolution to get us back under the Constitution. And I don't see the likes of you leaving your recliners to get it done.
