Aljazeera airs tape of Saudi bombers

Aljazeera television has aired footage purporting to show the suicide bombers of a Riyadh residential compound minutes before they carried out their deadly attack last November.

The Qatar-based Arab satellite news channel did not mention how it acquired the tape which was broadcast on Friday night.

Seventeen people, most of them Arab expatriates, were killed in the attack.

The tape showed grainy and shaky images of what appeared to be a car making its way towards the housing compound with men inside chanting repeatedly: "Allahu Akbar (God is great)."

This was suddenly interrupted by a dark screen and what sounded like loud explosions, an exchange of fire and the interference of radio frequencies.

Taped testimony

It was followed by what the voice of a male narrator said was "taped testimony from two of the militants before they carried out their attacks giving their reasons for embarking on their mission."

"Our sacrifice is aimed at creating an Islamic state," said Ali bin Hamed al-Maabadi, whom the narrator described as one of those who remained inside the explosives-laden vehicle.

The narrator then introduced Maabadi's alleged companion, Nasser bin Abdullah al-Sayari.

"Many of the youth yearn for these martyr operations and in reality they are the most effective weapon against the targets," said Sayari.

On November 11, Saudi weekly Al-Majalla said one of its correspondents had received an e-mail message purporting to be from the Al-Qaeda Islamic network claiming responsibility for the bombing.

How long do you think it will be before there is
The Suicide Bombers Television Network?
I can see it now: Pay-per-view with all profits going to the families of the bombers.

They have to mean global takeover, or else it doesn't make sense. Why kill yourself to create a crummy nation like that? One that won't be able to compete in the world because it would be so backwards?

Also, it would be a constant military conflict and probably be nuked fairly quickly as well. These guys have a real problem.

"Many of the youth yearn for these martyr operations..."

And the adults are willing to indulge them.

"Our sacrifice is aimed at creating an Islamic state," said Ali bin Hamed al-Maabad

Saudi Arabia is already an Islamic state. They are trying to destroy an Islamic state and replace it with a fascist state (sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference...)
