SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Rumsfeld Doubts Bin Laden's Capture Is Near

Asked about recent comments by U.S. military officers in Afghanistan (search) that they believed they are close to capturing bin Laden, Rumsfeld suggested that there was no objective basis for heightened hope. One officer said he was "sure" bin Laden would be taken by the end of this year.

"What that may be a reflection of is their enthusiasm, the fact that they feel they are well organized ... and they're hopeful," he told reporters during an interview on a flight here from Washington.

As I've said, I do not trust Putin, or his administration or his military officials. I do believe that Russian made weapons and materials of all sorts have been sold to others. I firmly believe that Putin will make promises and shake hands with Pres. Bush, Sec. Powell, Rumsfield, Rice, etc. and turn around and quietly sell whatever he can to the highest bidder with no thought to his "customers" being in the "axis of evil" or not.

In that regard, yes, I believe that Russia will attack us. But, at this time, I do not believe we will be attacked by Russia in an overt manner. Just my opinion. But, lets all keep the info coming. That's what this thread is about. It's an education, for all of us, in more ways than one. And I for one am always open for new info.

I'm just getting updated now on the move. In reference to the new questions about Russia/Soviet/et al....I have more stuff to read and post.

I have several newsletters I'm on in reference to 'Soviet'. I am President to an orphanage in the Ukraine. I admit, I don't read half or more of the newsletters. I will say, in reference to the half I skim, they refer often to the SOVIET. I will be going back to my archives hopefully starting tomorrow to try to reference doubts on what this means.

This is not imho a violation of opsec, it is based upon the initial call from the individual we have noted. OPDEC means OPerational DECeption. How is NEIN's revealing this information a breach of OPDEC?

It isn't. It was "leaked" to us intentionally.

With all due respect, I have devoted my entire life since 1978 to my oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. In February of that year I swore the oath and have lived by its every syllable ever since.

The information we recieved was and is an INTENTIONAL LEAK. The reason for it is obvious. As to the question of why we recieved this info, I suggest you read the section about our succeses and who we provide information to at the federal level. You will find this in our operational statement.

Leaking info on Osama bin Laden's capture is not hurting anyone except alQaeda.

Loose lips has to do with the disposition of friendly forces, not the enemy.

As I have said before OBL is but a convenient figurehead.. the man calling the shots is Ayman al-Zawahiri. He's the guy we need to bag and tag.
