SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.
The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Yup. Just found that out regarding the Gettysburg battlefield. (Relocation area for refugees from Baltimore and Washington)

I'm inclined to believe Sean's original story- not only the capture of OBL in Iran, but also the 30 nukes spread across US cities in clusters of 4 or 5. I wonder what response, if anything, AQ would have to awareness of OBL's capture? Maybe we did not want it disclosed for fear of their response. (I.e.- do they have a doomsday plan?)
Also, I still think they already dropped some bio here in the US.

I (for some reason) believe the OBL/Iran thing too. Have been very skeptical though, because of the length of time since hearing about it. What I don't understand is, if Iran was harboring him and others why are we making out like we are catching him on Pak/Afghan border. Did the Iranians not have a clue we caught him in their territory?
Can someone explain this to me? Why can't we say we caught him in Iran either a month ago or tomorrow.

I'm guessing we pressured Iran to give up OBL or face "regime change". As to the reason his capture has been kept quiet? My guess is that we are concerned about a potential AQ "doomsday plan"- i.e. operatives are authorized to launch their attacks on learning of the death or capture of OBL.

MY OPINION: The Taliban are dying out and they know it.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The Taliban is attempting to keep the jihad alive in Afghanistan by murdering construction workers. The focus on non-combatants accord with the provisions of Islamic law that forbid killing them unless they are considered to be aiding the war effort. This is used to justify bombings on buses in Israel, and by Osama for his attacks in the U.S. From the Guardian:"

I found a book, that explains the glory of the muslim attacks on America, it say that the Cole was the start of the march to glory. This book is long and after two attempts, I simply cannot see to read it all, it is well written and tells of what the muslim should and must do, to defeat us.
It is not daleel crap.
It says 'Our enemy is the United States'.

I don't know what else is at this site, needs someone who knows more about digging into the files of a site, than I do. It appears that this is a porn site and I didn't see a link to this article on the front page.
I searched google.com for:
1424 who are the enemies within the United States
The above article was on page 9. Pages 10 & 11 had OBL links, that need checked.

Right now I have to believe that Iran is officially being kept out of this because Uncle Sam does not want another major war on his hands just now. This issue is, from everything I am able to discern, being driven by State Department policy, and not national policy.
I do not understand why we are apparently making deals with a terrorist-supporting Islamic dictatorship.
From a tactical perspecive we have Iran between Iraq and a Hard Place (Afghanistan) and have for all intents and purposes militarily completely surrounded the Mullahs of the Islamic Republic. On the other hand Iran is a another key military ally of Russia, China and to a lesser extent the DPRK.
I think in lieu of a much wider and more intense global conflict Uncle Sam has wisely decided to tack onto this present course. It is risky and dangerous; could lead us onto some shallow shoals. Maybe we're hoping Iran's own internal political pressure-cooker problems will make the current issue a moot point?
Gotta watch this closely.

While doing a google map image search on Iran cities (provinces) that has been mentioned of sightings of Osama bin Laden I came across this. Very interesting.

12.The Castles of the Assassin :
Those who favor ambitious excursions and unusual historical episodes are recommended to hire a car and a guide to go near the source of the Alamut River on the southern foothills of the Alborz Mountains. There, fortified eagles Nestea recall unbelievable but authentic adventures of the Old Man of the Mountains-Hasan Sabbah, The Grand Master (1040-1124)- and of his sect of Assassins or Hashashins. The historic fortresses are known as the Castle of the Assassins, which were first introduced into European literature by the returning Crusaders, and made famous this century in Dane Freya Starks classical Valleys of the Assassins. These were the heavily fortified lairs of the adherents of a bizarre religious cult, based loosely on the precepts of the Ismaili Sect. Hassan Sabbah founded the cult in the 11th century. This heretical and widely feared sect sent out killers throughout the region to murder the leading political and religious figures. The cult at its height extended from Syria to Khorasan. Until 1256, when the Mongols captured its castles, the Assassins spread fear throughout the region, although some scholars claim that their reputation was exaggerated. As one might expect, the outlaw mountain hideaways were designed to be impregnable and inaccessible, and to this day it is still extremely difficult to visit them; a complete tour the castles in this region would take about a week on horseback with a well experience guide. Many of them are only accessible to experienced and well-equipped mountaineers. However, the castle of Alamout, one of the most famous of all, is nowadays more or less accessible by 4wd in dry weather. It was originally built in 860, and captured in 1090 by the Assassins, who occupied it until 1256.
Left click on the city on the map if you go to the link if interested. Comes with history and music of the area.

Has the Muslim new year begun yet, anyone, or are we still waiting for that date as a possible date for the Jihadi's to trigger an attack against Americans?

"I think in lieu of a much wider and more intense global conflict Uncle Sam has wisely decided to tack onto this present course" Most certainly I agree. I also think we fear that capturing OBL could trigger a wmd attack on the US.
To: TexKat
Yes. Remember how OBL predicted this. Also remember those pictures of NYC being nuked, the OBL looking down from the sky? That seemed to me to be indicating that OBL would be martyred before NYC was taken out.
To: ZOTnot
I think it begins today. I think that they possibly already spread some bio around- a week or so ago- and that they were anticipating their "cave of darkness" operation. Hopefully we stopped them. That we are continuing to prepare for wmd attacks tells me that we are not certain that we can eliminate their threats.
