SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.
The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

President Takes a Submarine Ride
By Simon Saradzhyan
Staff Writer
Itar-Tass / Reuters
Putin, flanked by Ivanov and Navy commander Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov, walking on a pier in Severomorsk on Monday evening.
President Vladimir Putin boarded a Northern Fleet submarine Monday to observe first-hand ongoing nuclear war games that are to culminate this week with the flights of strategic bombers and launches of ballistic missiles.
Putin arrived at the fleet's headquarters in Severomorsk on Monday evening and shortly afterward was shown on television boarding the Arkhangelsk ballistic missile nuclear-powered submarine. The president, wearing a heavy naval coat and cap, was accompanied by Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, who is commanding the strategic exercises.
The Akula-class submarine, which is armed 20 RSM-52 ballistic missiles along with other armaments, was then towed away from the dock with Putin on board, Interfax reported.
Putin was to stay on board until Tuesday afternoon to observe the launches of missiles in the Barents Sea, Rossia television reported.(snipped)

Paging Sean Osborne Lomax...
What are your sources saying regarding the nuke threats?

I read the FoxNews story on this and either this woman is not too bright or something is fishy.
She is from the Tacoma/Ft.Lewis area (yes, new to the area) and was attempting to drive to Vancouver WA but ended up at the Canadian border? Doesn't she know the difference between north and south? From Tacoma the Canadian border is about 150 miles north. From Tacoma Vancouver, WA is about 120 miles south. You get to either one via I-5. Along I-5, like any other interstate freeway, there are lots of signs telling you where you are going. Heck, north of Tacoma is Seattle. Driving through Seattle would be a big clue that you are going to wrong way!

Could someone *really* be this dumb?
To: Oorang
And when you hit Detroit, you think that would be another big clue. ROFL. I'm not buying this story either.

"Arkhangelsk ballistic missile nuclear-powered submarine."
How close is Arkhangelsk to Severnaya?
To: Velveeta
And when you hit DetroitLOL!
I'm not buying it either. I haven't been up to the Canadian border (I live in Washington) for 8 years or so, but, there used to be big signs along the freeway saying "Canadian border 20 miles" etc.
And who would put a grenade in the glovebox and forget about it!?! Wouldn't her husband say "if you are going to take the car today let me get something out of the glovebox"?

Well, how many cops forget their guns in glove compartments? Could a military wife's husband forget he had left a grenade in the car?
We'll see.
