SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

What I'm trying to figure out is the timing of Lowes' infections. Would Norwalk virus linger? What is confusing to me is the report that some of the individuals at Loews 1/29-31 became ill after leaving the hotel, then a larger group from a convention (69 or so people) became ill while at the hotel. Two different groups of people on different days seems to rule out food poisoning. Would Norwalk virus behave like this?

It behaved like that at the school. Traveling around just like a regular virus but it packed an autoimmune t-storm punch after debilitating the body by high fever and dehydration (intractable vomiting) and triggering pneumonia in some as it morphed into respiratory symptoms, resulting in severe first onset asthma on top of pneumonia.

If you have allergies, avoid this one like the plague.

This wasn't a normal norovirus though...this was a combo with a respiratory virus....all the kids got it as a combo not just a tummy flu.

Even the Drs in the Dupont ER commented about this being different and much more dangerous. It filled the lungs with froth rapidly.

All's been quite around the Reston, Va. area. Maybe one day I'll have a chance to catch up on this thread. At a glace it looks like I've been missing some really interesting stuff.

Stay safe folks. God Bless.

'Imminent' Saudi attack warning

Suicide bombers hit residential compounds in Riyadh last year
Terrorists may be in the final stages of planning an attack in Saudi Arabia, the UK Foreign Office has warned.
It has issued fresh guidance to travellers about the possibility of an imminent attack.

It had already warned it believed terrorists were "determined to carry out further attacks in Saudi Arabia".

The new warning comes after a British Airways flight to Riyadh, which had been due to fly on Monday afternoon, was cancelled amid security fears.

'Low profile'

The Foreign Office website warns of "a continuing high threat of terrorism in Saudi Arabia" and advises Briton "against all but essential travel" to the kingdom.

We believe that terrorists remain determined to carry out further attacks in Saudi Arabia, and that these may be in the final stages of preparation

Foreign Office
It goes on to urge British nationals to keep a "low profile" and to "maintain a high level of vigilance, particularly in public places frequented by foreigners such as hotels, restaurants and shopping malls".

A similar warning was issued at the end of December.

The Foreign Office warned the threat applied to but "is not limited to" residential compounds.

Accommodation in Riyadh, housing diplomats from the Arab world and their families, was attacked by suicide bombers on 8 November.

That attack left 18 dead as well as 120 wounded, many of them children.

And co-ordinated suicide attacks on Western diplomatic compounds in Riyadh on 12 May last year left 34 dead, including the two Britons and the nine bombers.

British Airways flight 263 to Riyadh had been due to fly from London Heathrow on Monday afternoon but was grounded because of fears it could be the victim of a terrorist attack.

"Australia: terrorist suspect enjoys free rein"

JIHAD WATCH.org - ARTICLE SNIPPET: "From the Sun-Herald, with thanks to Jean-Luc:

A week after a Pakistani-born man was named publicly as a terror suspect he is still free, walking the streets of Sydney.

And it is almost four months since anti-terror forces searched the man's home in south-western Sydney, along with those of six others who were identified as key associates of terror suspect Willy Brigitte, who is in a French jail cell.

But despite accusations that the man, named as Abu Hamza, was part of a group allegedly planning a terror attack in Sydney, police are powerless to put him behind bars.

The Federal Government says it cannot detain him as he has not broken any law."

Explosives found in car at Canada border

BLAINE, Wash. -- The biggest northern border crossing west of Detroit was closed Monday after Canadian guards found explosives in a car entering the country from the United States, Canadian customs officials said.

They did not specify what type of explosives was found.

A Canadian customs spokeswoman, Paula Shore, told Northwest Cable News the vehicle tried to cross into Canada from the United States at the Peace Arch border crossing. She gave no further details; neither she nor customs spokeswoman Faith St. John immediately returned calls seeking comment.

Mike Milne, a Seattle-based spokesman for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, confirmed the border crossing at Blaine had been shut down in both directions after the car was stopped at 1 p.m., but he declined to comment on what the Canadian guards may have found.

Traffic was routed a few miles east to Pacific Highway, which has a border crossing typically used by commercial trucks.

About 8 million vehicles cross at Blaine, the northern end of Interstate 5, every year.

No. That was me that said there was something that causes similar GI Symptoms that isn't curable. AND I posted this link.
