"sewer line accidentally patched into a saltwater disposal line"
aha --- sure --- someone tried to illegally dispose of waste and just got caught!
Heads will roll *IF* the media keep on it like they should.
I'm no enviro whacko but I don't believe in this garbage.

The story seems to be ignoring the probability that somebody is in big trouble for disposing of crude oil down a "salt water disposal" line.

Faced with the loss of her home and many of her possessions, she was not happy about the mistake, fearing she and her son have suffered two years of exposure to toxic gases from the disposal line. Firefighters evacuated her home Monday night because the fumes from the spilled oil are dangerous. "I got chemicals and gases. My house has actually been a vent ... for that pipeline for two years." I'd think the traps in her drains would prevent gases from the pipeline from getting into her home (except when it backed up, of course). I mean, it's not as though the gases in a legitimate sewer line are something you want in your house, either.
