You Want Vietnam? Bring It On!

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT 2:08 PM EST
RUSH: Now, as to this business on Vietnam. The Democrats are the ones opening this up this time around. It's not us. Not the Republicans or conservatives. So if the libs want to open this Vietnam thing up, then okay. We will remind them who spit on the soldiers when they got back home. We'll remind them who called the soldiers "baby killers." We will remind them who tore up Chicago during a Democratic convention in 1968 while the Rolling Stones "Street Fighting Band" was playing in the background.
We'll remind them that was John Kerry's bunch, not George W. Bush. We know which party Hanoi Jane and Tom Hayden, et. al., belong to, and it wasn't the Republican Party. So bring it on, Terry! Bring it on. You want to bring all this up, fine. You want to go out there and you want to attack George W. Bush, the commander-in-chief, in charge of the war on terror, fine.
We've got pictures of Jane Fonda in Hanoi. We've got pictures of Kerry throwing those medals of other people over the fence. We got Tom Hayden. We got the Chicago Eight. We've got all those people spitting on the soldiers when they came back. We've got all the Democrats calling them "baby killers." We've got it all, if you want to bring it back up. And if you want, we can bring up Bill Clinton's letters to Colonel Holmes saying he "loathed the military." And along with your votes to cut the CIA, and along with your votes to eliminate all these defense weapon systems such as the B-1 and B-2 bombers. Terry, if you want to bring this stuff up, feel free.
I think it would just be easier for you people, Terry, to admit who you are. You don't like superpower status. You don't like the military, and you don't like the CIA. Why in the world you get so mad when people identify who you are? This is just, well, it's easy to sit here and say, "It's amazing," but it's not - but part of it is. That's who you are. I mean, what's so bad about being understood? A lot of people are going through life wishing people understood them. We understand you. You should be happy.

"We've got pictures of Kerry throwing those medals of other people over the fence."In a recent RAT so-called debate, every participant was questioned if they had EVER hired an illegal alien. Did anyone else notice Kerry tightening up a bit? $600 million and not even one illegal servant? C'mon...

Ahhhh, great question!

I actually respect Senator Kerry's military service. The fact remains that W has him trumped with his Commander-in-Chief performance, re; success in 2 major theatres and an overall logical campaign.
Now is not the time to think about switching horses.

I think just the fact Kerry threw other soldiers' medals away and kept his own for future benefit will convince a lot of people that he's a creep.

Know how long Kerry was in VietNam??? 4 MONTHS!! FOUR MONTHS!! This is according to Michael Medved....and Kerry asked to get out early so he could run for Congress!!

"Street Fighting Man." The song is about a "poor boy" who hasn't anything to do "except sing for a rock 'n' roll band," since protesting in "sleepy" London streets was so useless.
The irony stings yet.
Gee, where was Clinton when Jagger wrote that?

This is an ineffective polemic, particularly about Kerry circa 1970. Bashing him over the B-1 will lay an egg. Rove of course will do much better than the hapless Limbaugh in operation let's shred Kerry. It will require a much lighter and defter touch. No template here for that.

I read an interview with Kerry years ago in which he said he knew that the Vietnam anti-war protests were demoralizing the troops in country, but he went ahead and joined the protesters anyway. Guess he felt that he had to destroy our military in order to save it.

How much do you respect his lying trashing of the military and his betrayal of our troops in Nam when he joined Teddy in lying about every victory as a defeat from the Tet Offensive on?

"I actually respect Senator Kerry's military service."
Really? I pretty much lost respect for it after being reminded of it--by him!--for the umpteenth time. There is something loach about prostituting military service, especially when your whole persona stinks of "East Coast Liberal".
"The fact remains that W has him trumped with his Commander-in-Chief performance..."
I totally agree!

What I meant was, his 4 months in country were a hell of a lot more than I ever did, and I respect that. Do not mis-read that as any sort of endorsement or support. His election to president would be a disaster.

Kerry's macho envy of Bush is getting old....
First he copied Bush's aircraft carrier landing by riding his hog up onto Jay's stage. Now he's stolen Bush's line "Bring it on." It's downright embarrassing, I'll tell ya. He's reminding me a lot of testosterone-challenged Gore.
To: avenir
There are things to be praised and things to be trashed about Kerry's war and post war record. But in the end, what a stupid country that can be swayed by this personal nonsense, when what matters are the policies of an administration. That's what will affect hundreds of millions of people. Why would anyone mess up our national defense because Bush was in the guard or Kerry fought in Nam as kids? "John Kerry was a war hero, so I think I'll let him destroy our military and put my family at risk." Brilliant.

Now he's stolen Bush's line "Bring it on."That phrase was designed to entice terrorists. Kerry tries to spin that? It doesn't work...
