As usual when their democracies are threatened, Europeans will come to us for help, or flood us as refugees. I don't see islam as a real threat, just an annoyance like a roach infestation.

Demographically, the Western Europeans appear to have thrown in the towel already...I think they value their six week vacations and "dolce vita" too much to bother reproducing anymore. Their children and grandchildren will be besieged minorities relegated to second-class status in their own homelands unlss something dreadful and drastic occurs.

Of course, maybe we shouldn't count them out quite yet--as the authors of the two most brutal and horrifying wars in human history, they may have some tricks up their sleeves yet...

One thing is certain: if Islam does prevail, it will not be because of the inherent power of its message, but because the people of the West care so little about their faith, culture, and heritage that they let a medieval religion and culture seep into and destroy Western civilization.

Banning the headscarf, IMHO, is a brilliant move that's going to bring the rats up out of the sewer. Just wait and see.

My prediction: The Muslims will be exempted from this French law within the next few years (it's happened in the UK - Sikhs have preferential laws that will amaze you), but the Jews and Christians will still not be allowed to wear their own religious items. The more the French state becomes involved in religion, the closer France gets towards the Islamic dream.
